pork_pie Posted June 11, 2003 Posted June 11, 2003 What problems you having? The fault I face with mine is the mileage range I get from each light are not the same. When the car is filled, the first light gives me 60 miles 2 - 135 miles 3 - 145 miles 4 - 135 miles 5 - 130 miles 6 + orange light - thirty miles. Orange light - never ran the tank dry yet. Quote
AlanFC Posted June 11, 2003 Posted June 11, 2003 Porky, I'm not sure I would consider what you're describing as a fault. I 've had 'farsands' of cars and have yet to have an accurate fuel gauge on any of them. I think it's best to treat it as a guide rather than an absolute indication. BUT, the mad oil level gauge, I would class that as a fault, sometimes its on 2 marks, then its on 4, others its on 6 and flashing (consult your dealer it says in the book-he would have to live with me in that case!)) THis is unaffected by slope etc. It has simply gone MAD! Regards, AlanFC Quote
itsmywifes Posted June 11, 2003 Posted June 11, 2003 Best mileage so far before the first light extinguished - 137 Greatest distance on a tank so far - 589. By then we were on just the orange light and it took 42 litres to refill IMW Oil Gauge? We use the dipstick. Quote
pork_pie Posted June 12, 2003 Posted June 12, 2003 Alan Yes I agree with you, its not a fault (fuel gauge) As for the oil gauge, thats a totally useless feature. Mine constantly registers full. Quote
CE08LDB Posted June 12, 2003 Author Posted June 12, 2003 IT IS A PROBLEM WHEN YOU FILL IT UP SAY FOR EXAMPLE £10 AND IT IS JUST ON THE RED ALL THE TIME NO BARS JUST THE ORANGE LITTLE LIGHT. I REFERE THE NEEDLE GUADGE ON THE SAXO Quote

It is so eratic its not funny. The fual gauge is also shonky. Its not a true indicator I think. I dont know how far in Australia I can drive when its on the last light either. Im always terrified if I drive it on that last light that I will run dry. Not even sure if there is meant to be another light on? Quote
