Rich_Eason Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Recently I have noticed slight "lumpyness" in the clutch pedal whilst depressing it beyond half way. Although it can be felt through the pedal it has no effect on the operation of the clutch, although only seems apparent whilst engine is running. Any ideas? My thoughts are...in order of severity Clutch pedal return spring requiring some grease?*If applicable* Hydraulic clutch has air in system*If applicable* Clutch Cable SnaggingClutch release bearing  All of the above! It tends to go away and then come back which makes me worry even more. Any ideas? Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Mine grates when pressing it, asked them to lubricate it. Got the car back with oil all over the mat. Quote

The lumpiness is quite bad and gets worse with more revs. Citroen have fitted a new clutch already but its still the same. The car goes back in to Citroen tmra 02/10/2006. Ill keep you posted. Quote
wozza Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Cant say noticed this on my car...Now hoping im not gonna be in for another problem. Quote
C4VTS Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 No problems here with my clutch,. but I did ask a Citroen technician on saturday if it could be adjusted in any way to make it lower and he said there is no adjustment possible on the clutch at all. My original reason for the Citroen visit was to find cause of a rattle in my car, so went for a test drive, and of course the car never rattled ! He also mentioned that there is no longer any need to change the heater box if you have the hot air only problem, as they can now order just the plastic cog that was causing that problem. Quote
Mike5483 Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 My clutch has the notchy, nobbly feel to it after prolonged use to. My list of niggles is steadily growing I'm afraid. I now have... hertsnminds Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Knocking Front SuspensionGroaning Rear Suspension. Had the rear suspension replaced under warranty the other day. Seems to have made the ride a bit softer but also seems to have lost the front suspension knock. So maybe the car now sits lower at the back and leaves more suspension travel at the front. Ciaran2903 Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 My list of niggles:Windscreen trim is coming off slightly Rubber seals under the windows on the door does not match the trim below the windows on the drivers side Think that is it! :( Quote
Stuey Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 My list of niggles:Windscreen trim is coming off slightly Rubber seals under the windows on the door does not match the trim below the windows on the drivers side Think that is it! :( they will replace the air scuttle (the black bit under the windscreen) under warrantee. and if you are talking about the triangular bit infront of the drivers door, just push it down with a bit of force. mine works its way up if I have been driving at speed Quote
Rich_Eason Posted October 3, 2006 Author Posted October 3, 2006 My C4 has the same problem with the clutch peddle. The lumpiness is quite bad and gets worse with more revs. Have experienced this as well, enough to get the passenger seat to vibrate(no one sat in it).... :( Thankfully this is a v.rare occurance. After sitting in traffic yesterday on the way home the vibration has raised its ugly chops again. Nowere near as bad a sprevious experiences though... Quote

Think he means the black bits to either side of the screen. My Passenger side one is coming off at the top. Quote
Stuey Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 all of the trim on the windscreen is covered on warranty, I had the bits on the side replaced and I need to get the bottom bit replaced. The bit that the brake fluid bottle is attached to under the bonnet.... Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 This is the bit i was talking about:http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g262/Ciaran2903/Thisbit.jpg That pic is a 1.6 VTS by the way (and i mean "VTS"!) no spoiler! Quote
wozza Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 You mean theres a slight gap? If so thats normal mate it wont be perfect. Can try pushing the rubber down a bit though see if it helps. Always think its a bit wierd you can get a VTS spec'd car out there but in a 1.6. And not all our VTS's have spoilers here the diesel one does not have a spoiler here. Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Yeah, but quite a large gap! Catches my eye rather than the beauty of the car, and also i see it everytime i look in my drivers side wing mirror! :o  Quote
wozza Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Its normal mines exactly the same ignore it. You will never get perfect gaps and seals on any car just does not happen. Quote
