Did you have any options or certain rarer colours spec'd up? As i think the factory closes in august and reopens in september and depending on certain things it would have been a factory build so possibly why it is late it took them 12 weeks for them to get mine.

I ordered a C4 Coupe VTR+ (with sunroof & hi-fi extras) from nicenewcars.co.uk in mid July and have not even been given a date yet apart from "September". Very useful. It's good to know other people are in the same situation though.

I ordered mine via www.broker4cars.co.uk although the order was placed with the factory via Bristol Street Motors in Burton on Trent. The only options were Black paint and bluetooth. Am going to give the dealer a call and see if they can give me an update...

"Slightly off topic"

Captainsensible...when you get your new C4 will you be driving it with your stuffed parrott on your shoulder and wearing your red beret at a slightly jaunty angle? :P

As i said took me 12 weeks to get mine have to be patient with new cars that are built to your spec. If you had not ordered sunroof etc probably could have had one in a couple weeks same when i got mine. If i want black or silver would have taken them a couple weeks to get it i asked for red 12 week wait at the time.

Well, apparently mine has a build date of tomorrow, so looking good for the end of the month..... hopefully!!

And as for:

I've now heard mine left the factory on the 22nd September and will be at the dealers within 10 days. Are they going via Australia or something?!? Anyway, good news that my nice new C4 VTR+ has rolled off the production line at least :o

you know it is a "fresh" one too, its not sat in a compound somewhere for months like the silver ones have...It will be on a boat mate, a bit slower than lorry transporting it. The Dealer will want to PDI and valet it before they deliver it.

My car is finally arriving next monday... over 3 months from when it was ordered! Let's just hope they drive it to me in one pristine piece! And I don't have any troubles driving it back from my work in central London, which I've never driven in before incidentally :P Anyone got any words of wisdom for critical checks to make on delivery or advice for that first drive? :D

Just check every switch, button handle, the spare wheel. Make sure it has all the things it should in terms of spec.

Some things you can't check until you drive it, like the cruise and limiter functions. See how many miles it has done ( I think mine had done 27). Make sure you get all the documentation (including scratch card) and 2 keys (1 PLIP, 1 normal).

Cause then how would we differenciate between the 2 types of keys people get?

IE me who gets the 1 square key that folds away with buttons and 1 normal key no buttons. Without having to write all that!

Call it what you want! I just call mine "car keys" :P

You could call it Alf...thats easier to say than Plip.

I just find "Plip" abit geeky/cringeworthy from the deepest depths of sales slang/ spin.
