captainsensible Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Hi, I ordered my new C4 VTS 2.0HDI at the end of July and was quoted about 8 weeks for delivery, putting it to about the end of September. Is anyone in the same position or has had their C4 delivered already? Ta! Quote
wozza Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Did you have any options or certain rarer colours spec'd up? As i think the factory closes in august and reopens in september and depending on certain things it would have been a factory build so possibly why it is late it took them 12 weeks for them to get mine. Irongrey Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 I ordered my VTR+ in jJuly from UK Car Discount on the net (saving around £5000) and its due to be delivered 22nd September as it is a factory order. Quote
Jonny Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 I ordered a C4 Coupe VTR+ (with sunroof & hi-fi extras) from nicenewcars.co.uk in mid July and have not even been given a date yet apart from "September". Very useful. It's good to know other people are in the same situation though. Quote
captainsensible Posted September 13, 2006 Author Posted September 13, 2006 I ordered mine via www.broker4cars.co.uk although the order was placed with the factory via Bristol Street Motors in Burton on Trent. The only options were Black paint and bluetooth. Am going to give the dealer a call and see if they can give me an update... Quote

"Slightly off topic" Captainsensible...when you get your new C4 will you be driving it with your stuffed parrott on your shoulder and wearing your red beret at a slightly jaunty angle? :P Quote
wozza Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 It'll be the sunroof whats caused it to take some time more than likely. Quote
Jonny Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Yeah, very annoying. Still no date. Been nearly 10 weeks since the order went through! Quote
wozza Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 As i said took me 12 weeks to get mine have to be patient with new cars that are built to your spec. If you had not ordered sunroof etc probably could have had one in a couple weeks same when i got mine. If i want black or silver would have taken them a couple weeks to get it i asked for red 12 week wait at the time. Quote
captainsensible Posted September 19, 2006 Author Posted September 19, 2006 Well, apparently mine has a build date of tomorrow, so looking good for the end of the month..... hopefully!! And as for: Captainsensible...when you get your new C4 will you be driving it with your stuffed parrott on your shoulder and wearing your red beret at a slightly jaunty angle? Wot? Quote
Jonny Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 I've now heard mine left the factory on the 22nd September and will be at the dealers within 10 days. Are they going via Australia or something?!? Anyway, good news that my nice new C4 VTR+ has rolled off the production line at least :o Quote
Stuey Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 you know it is a "fresh" one too, its not sat in a compound somewhere for months like the silver ones have...It will be on a boat mate, a bit slower than lorry transporting it. The Dealer will want to PDI and valet it before they deliver it. Quote
captainsensible Posted September 28, 2006 Author Posted September 28, 2006 Won't it be on a lorry either side of being on a boat? :o Quote
Stuey Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 psssh details leave me alone, I didnt do anything to you.....yet :o Quote
captainsensible Posted September 29, 2006 Author Posted September 29, 2006 <_< Anyway, mine is in the country and will be delivered to me next week! Quote
citroeneddie Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 When I picked up my C5 on 26 April 2005, I looked up the build date and it said 15 September 2004 <_< Probably sat in a field in France for 6+ months. Quote
Jonny Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 My car is finally arriving next monday... over 3 months from when it was ordered! Let's just hope they drive it to me in one pristine piece! And I don't have any troubles driving it back from my work in central London, which I've never driven in before incidentally :P Anyone got any words of wisdom for critical checks to make on delivery or advice for that first drive? :D Quote
hertsnminds Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Just check every switch, button handle, the spare wheel. Make sure it has all the things it should in terms of spec. Some things you can't check until you drive it, like the cruise and limiter functions. See how many miles it has done ( I think mine had done 27). Make sure you get all the documentation (including scratch card) and 2 keys (1 PLIP, 1 normal). IanBlack 55 VTR+ Quote
C4VTS Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 2 keys (1 PLIP, 1 normal). Both my keys are the same with 3 buttons. What is a 'normal' key? Quote
hertsnminds Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Old fashioned stick it in the lock kind of key. Different models seem to get issued with different 2nd keys, some owners get 2 PLIP type keys others get 1 PLIP and one non PLIP. IanBlack 55 VTR+ Quote
Mat Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 VTS owners get 2 plip type keys. Ridiculous ! Quote
Rich_Eason Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 God I hate that word "Plip"... :P Whats wrong with "car key"?! Quote
wozza Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Cause then how would we differenciate between the 2 types of keys people get? IE me who gets the 1 square key that folds away with buttons and 1 normal key no buttons. Without having to write all that! Quote
Rich_Eason Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Call it what you want! I just call mine "car keys" :P You could call it Alf...thats easier to say than Plip. I just find "Plip" abit geeky/cringeworthy from the deepest depths of sales slang/ spin. Quote
