Z3M Roadster Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Don't know if anyone else attended this on Saturday. Every year the sun comes out along with a variety of cars and bikes to drag race along the sea front. I can well recommend it, especially for £10 which allows you access to the "paddock" area. Here are quite a few pics, I'll add more as I upload them so check back if you are interested. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c298/alexlomas/Brighton%202006/IMG_1279.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c298/alexlomas/Brighton%202006/IMG_1201.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c298/alexlomas/Brighton%202006/IMG_1212.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c298/alexlomas/Brighton%202006/IMG_1215.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c298/alexlomas/Brighton%202006/IMG_1220.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c298/alexlomas/Brighton%202006/IMG_1225.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c298/alexlomas/Brighton%202006/IMG_1227.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c298/alexlomas/Brighton%202006/IMG_1231.jpg Quote

wozza Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Loving the Viper GTS think its a GTS anyways or a venom the blue one i mean. Metro 6R4 just a rally icon though back from the good days of rallying. Quote
welshys90 Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 yeah i love the viper's as well, the blue one is a GTS and the Black one is an RT/10, i would give my arm and leg to own a viper, maybe the other end of uni but not just now Quote
wozza Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Was a viper that went for £20k on ebay not soo long ago getting cheaper now although still think i would rather the corvette as a daily driver a nice Z06 the new C6 shape its quicker than the viper stock versus stock handles much better than again the new vette is an amazing handling car really. But theres somehting about the viper maybe its the lets take a sledgehammer to open a walnut type appraoch. Quote
C4VTS Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 The Dodge Viper is best. What!!! NO C4's ???? :o :o :o Quote
welshys90 Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 lol i would definately have my C4 but if someone offered me keys 2 a dodge viper then id have them its a V10 435bhp (i think) its phenominal plus its just sheer muscle u put your foot down and the back slides out easier than drivin on ice with traction off. the best ive drove doesnt come close 2 a viper and thats a porsche 911 Carrera 4 Turbo Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 Didn't see 1 c4 all day. The GTS has some battle damage, if you look closely. The Viper which went for 20k on ebay was a repaired CAT D and looked like a shed on wheels. 6r4 is one of my favourite all time cars. My father has been contemplating buying one. There was an RS200 there but couldn't be bothered to upload more photos. Quote
welshys90 Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 yeah i noticed that actually didnt think nothing of it though, behind the wheel arch Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 Yup, infact the whole way down the left hand side of the car, albeit not clear in the photo. Was done last week on the Isle of Man Quote
welshys90 Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 yeah i can see a little bit more at the back wheel arch, lol that explains alot, im sure after you leave a town in the isle of man the speed limit is of your choosing, i also noticed the AC Cobra, i love that car and hate it for one reason, it managed to go from glasgow (i think it was) to london in a police car chase without gettin caught but it also gave us our 70mph road limits, mind u nowadays the roads aint great and there are alot of idiots in their corsas/fiesta's (not all corsa/fiesta drivers but some of them) are idiots for example coming back from fife, i had 2 fully modded corsa's fly by me, i reckon they were doin at least 100 didnt bother to try and catch them, tired and drivin fast isnt the best idea Quote
wozza Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 That viper in standard form would have between 450 and 500bhp and possibly over 500ft lb of torque. 8.0 V10 engine 0 - 60 in 3.8 seconds ish. However if its had anything serious done to it would be on the other side of 1000bhp theres already companies that sell them with 1000bhp road legal and daily driven quite easily. And mentioning cobra's have a search for the Weineck Cobra the newer one. 12.9 litre worlds quickest car now. 0 - 187mph in 10 seconds. Quote
welshys90 Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 yeh henosee (not sure of the spelling) venom have one on the american Ebay thats 1000bhp but it does 8 mpg in town and 11 on the motorway stock model so bumpin it up to 1000bhp aint gonna help, tho i still think the original Humvee was the best im sure it was about 2mpg in town and 4 on the freeway lol very enviromentally friendly Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 The Viper couldn't get the power down, seem to recall it was doing 12secs and around 135 terminal. My fathers old TVR would do 6mpg, depending who was driving :o :o http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c298/alexlomas/Random/bbwf_20.jpg The car has since been exported to Holland to a mad dutchman who regularly does this too. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c298/alexlomas/Random/th_4d84c9c8.jpg Quote
wozza Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 12 seconds is about right 1/4 for a Viper bone stock. And thats how performance cars should be driven annoys me when i see people with expensive cars and all they do is drive around the city in them rarely getting above 2000rpm. If you can afford the car you can afford new tyres might as well have some fun with them. Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 Wasn't a stock Viper was a racing Viper, stripped out. In fact there were 2, the other without the rear wing. Number plates were A10 CYL and N10 CYL. Quote
wozza Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Probably just the track then if it cant get traction. Seeing a lot more american cars on the road though recently seen a few mustangs this week and a few corvettes and 1 viper around manchester. Seems people are wising up to how cheap they can get them by importing them. Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 There was a new Mustang GT running, looked very boring, sounded of nothing and wasn't very quick. I see an old guy driving a red Z06 with the roof down near me most evenings on the way home from work. I am contemplating a C5 Vette as my next car. Quote
wozza Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 If im getting a stang it will be getting modded stock they dont sound particularly great the exhaust note is rather boring etc. After a few changes though they look and sound great and the new Eleanor kit for it is sexual if you ask me. http://www.trikpony.com/images/S4300037_JPG.jpg If i was getting one though engine would be bored out to a 5.2 and wuld be getting a supercharger. There so simple to tune and build and the parts are rather cheap as well. Supercahrger works out around £2500 which isnt bad really. Can install it on your own in your garage as well. But the C5 is a lovely looking car prefer the hardtop though nicer shape t top isnt too bad though. Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 Looks like a normal Stang with some fake vents stuck on the side, surely something like that will be the wrong side of 25k after shipping etc. Will only be worth half of that a couple of years later. Yank V8s are relatively easy to tune, or at least bolt bits to. Still the price mounts up. If you want a decent exhaust look up Hayward and Scott, there is no one better. They look good and sound fantastic. Quote
wozza Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 price of new mustang is $27,000 list price obviously get them cheaper than that by a fair amount. divide by 1.9 comes to £14,200 for stang + 10% duty(dont think its actually that much) 17.5% tax Brings it to £18,000 though shipping is around $600 and SVA is around another £300. Yet there are 05 stangs with lots of mileage on them still going for over £20k you actually make money on these cars keeping them for 2 years and selling them due to how rare they are in this country they keep there price unlike in the states But it depends i suppose i love the look of the Stang love the vette as well but think i will buy a stang myself as if i bought a vette id want a brand new Z06 and well thats £60k+ buying it here or £40k getting one imported. Quote
welshys90 Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 shippin one 2 the uk would cost more than 600 am sure! Quote
wozza Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 £600 is about right can be cheaper it depends if you arrange for it to be done in the states its not so much. If you arrange for it here it can be over £1000. Quote
