JM53 BEL Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 I am interested in getting a factory subwoofer for my C5. I was wondering if anyone on here has one fitted and if its worth getting one, is it worth the money, and any ideas on where to find one Quote
seefive Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Wouldn't bother personally - there's plenty of bass on tap with the standard set up.If you've got money to spend, I would recommend autodab digital radio conversionWith a decent (non standard) aerial it works superbly- better station choice and rock solid receptionFM will be disappearing at some time in the (near?) future, so this is a good investment.. No I don't work for Connects2. Quote
rednose66 Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Personally I think the standard audio setup in my C5 is very poor. A new set of component speakers and a sub would be the minimum for me. Quote
seefive Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 I'm surprised to hear that. I'm very fussy about sound quality myself - I run my home hi-fi on a vintage amplifier because I can't stand the dull muddy sound of modern chip amps. I also way prefer vinyl over digital formats, and yet I find the C5 factory radio very acceptable, with loudness on and slight lift on the bass and cut on treble To each his own, I guess... Quote

The C5 must fairly vibrate. I was going to upgrade the speakers on my C5 lll but too much trouble to take off panel. Have upgradedC5 ll front speakers slightly as easy to get off grille. Road rumble precludes the motor car from being a decent hifi platform, so I don't get too anal about getting Dali quality. Quote
