moggy Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 seems i need to top up my oil for the first time, got my car 29/09/05 done under 6500 miles. nehoo maintenance guide says total quartz 7000 10W-40 and total quartz 9000 5W-40. can i use any 10w-40 or 5w-40 oil or does it need to be total? thanks Moggy :P Quote
C4VTS Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 It can be any oil that has the same 'specifications' as the Total oils for your car. Some examples below:- The oil you buy will either have the API, or the ACEA, spec printed on the label. As long as it has one or the other it will be fine.Check your service book for the correct oil spec for your car. QUARTZ 7000ViscositySAE 10W-40SpecificationsAPI SJ/CF. ACEA A3/B3 QUARTZ 9000ViscositySAE 5W-40SpecificationsAPI SL/CF. ACEA A3/B3/B4. Quote
