hertsnminds Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 When my car had it's 12,500 mile service last week the did an engine management software update. This seems to have reset lots of things that I can change back, door locking, 24 hr time etc etc. However, I now have a new feature on the front passenger side window. The window will only move in 2cm increments both opening and closing. So to fully open or close the window you have to press the switch about 8 times. This is the same for the driver and passenger side switch. 2 Questions1) Is the one touch window open/close user configurable (or dealer only)2) How many options are there, 1 touch, 2 touch through to 8 touch to to open/close. All other windows are as they were before with the 1 touch feature. IanBlack 55 VTR+ Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Are you sure that you are pressing the switch all the way down? to the second click? Quote
Stuey Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 if you push down or pull up the button fully it should co all the way, its not optional...thats why there are 2 clicks to the control. Take it back and get em to look at it, a software update shouldnt have affected it I wouldnt have though unless they are controled via the CPU which is possible I suppose... Quote
dave&trace Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 anti pinch needs resetting put the windows all the way down and back up again fully the window will only go in short bursts but when you have finished this it should have reset it`s self. Quote
wozza Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 Antipinch in a really great thing until you have your windows down and someone tries car jacking you and you try put them up then your pretty screwed lol. Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 With air-con, i hardly ever have my windows down! <_< <_< Quote
Stuey Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 I very rarely use my aircon...it smells funny and makes the car sound like a tank...maybe I should have that checked?? <_< Quote
dave&trace Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 you can get a air conditioning treatment from comma £10 which cleans the air we have used it and it works Quote
Mike5483 Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 I very rarely use my aircon...it smells funny and makes the car sound like a tank...maybe I should have that checked?? :o My AC compressor whines, sounds like the bloody Millenium Falcon entering Hyperspeed!!! Yet another thing that needs looking at when it goes for service. Quote
Stuey Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 Dave&Trace, I will look out for that... and Mike I think they all sound like a space ship when you kill the ignition with the AC running. mine sometimes gets a bit noisy when it hasnt been on for a while. I might leave it running and see if that clears it up. Quote
Mike5483 Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 No, I mean it whines when its in use, especially at about 2000RPM, thats when it seems loudest. It makes such a big difference tothe noise levels in the car when you switch the AC off. Quote
C4VTS Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 Talking about windows..... If I try to shut the drivers window on a motorway it won't shut properly, and just winds down again due to the wind resistance unless I slow down to about 60mph! I presume the anti-pinch feature is a bit over sensitive. Can this be fixed by Citroen? Quote
dave&trace Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 we had to have new window rubbers on prev C4 because of that[under warranty] that cured it Quote
Rich_Eason Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 I very rarely use my aircon...it smells funny and makes the car sound like a tank...maybe I should have that checked?? :o Thats the reason why it smells, you arnt using it enough. You are alowing the bacteria to form in the vents which causes the smell. Also you should be using it frequently if not all the time as this maintains the lubrication of the pumps compressors and system and saves you having a nasty seizure later on in life....be it mechanical or you finding how much it will cost to replace... :P Quote
