birdtraz Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Hi. i just bought a Xsara 1.4LX today. It's a 2004 model and obviously in a car of this age has a few eccentricities but seems to run well so far. One thing I noticed tonight was that when I started the engine, turned on the lights, and was about to drive off, the dipped light icon was flashing. I'm not sure what I did ( I might have fiddled with the lights control or not ) but it went off and didn't come on again. I will need to have another look tomorrow but I didn't really record what happened. Any advice on what I should do or look for? Also I notice the engine temp doesn't get much about 75 degrees or so - this on clear roads. I haven't tried it in heavy traffic yet so maybe it will rise above this in these conditions. Anything to worry about there? Again tomorrow I will let it idle when stationary for a while. Thanks for any help and apologies if these are naive questions :) Quote
birdtraz Posted August 31, 2014 Author Posted August 31, 2014 Hmm. Had another look today and the warning light didn't recur. I had a look in the manual and it says that it shows a system malfunction and the headlights will come on? Anyway it was dark and the lights were on anyway so I don't know if it tried to put them on itself or not. Is this a known issue? I have read around since my post about Com 2000 failure and something called BRI or similar? I'm not sure if this might be the issue. I could do with some advice if possible Thanks Quote
