ham's c4vts Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 if anyone is interested you can get rainx from costco for £6 in a 500ml bottle and somfoaming glass cleaner(300ml). Quote
Stuey Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 I use AutoGlym Fast Glass on the windows. That makes the water bead up like RainX. I will grab some when i see it next. All of Hams car cleaning suggestions have worked...Meg's tech wax is the dogs danglies and the quik clay is very good too. Quote
ham's c4vts Posted September 30, 2006 Author Posted September 30, 2006 thanks mate, i just tried that flash thingy, its a bit of a pain really but if you rinse the car off after washing, the turn it on to use the deionising filter its surposed to dry spot free, i still leathered it off with auto glym synthetic chammy but it dried even better.ill just usit to rinse off at the ens.they cost £7.50 in asda Quote
Stuey Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 thats always been a problem for me, getting round the car quick enough to dry it off before it leaves white spots and catch all the drips from the mirrors and back window seal. Need to get some better tyre shine aswell. I use Turtle Wax something or other but it is a squirty bottle so it doesnt cover very well. I think I will try Muc-off silica wheel gel. Its meant to stop dirt and brakes dust sticking the the alloys too. stick that pic you sent me a minute ago up, I'm sure people will want to see the VTS looking that good Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 I use rainx wipes and also rainx in the washer fluid, it is working really well. Also means that every time i use the wipers, rainx is apllied to the windscreen! :P I use(d) the flash thing, (damn hosepipe ban :P ) and for me it works really well! I just use(d) in the evening. Now i have to resort to the old bucket and sponge (well mop for the keenos like me! :P ).I waxed her ( now that really does sound dodgy!! :P :D ) and she looked beautiful!! But now she is filthy! :P :P Partly down to the fact that i cant be arsed to clean a car that has a great big dent in the side! :P A little more dirt and it will look cool i reckon. The front looks awesome with all the road spray! :P A really agressive black with grey lines! :P Cant wait to get the dent fixed and resume normal spotlessness! :P Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 Good stuff RainX, I don't use it on the windscreen though as the wipers don't work so effectively and smear. Haven't been to Costco in ages, mainly because the last time I went the queues were unbelieveable. Quote
ham's c4vts Posted September 30, 2006 Author Posted September 30, 2006 never hasd that problem on windscreens and ive used it on loads of my cars Quote
wozza Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 If you want to avoid the spots when you have washed the car dont need to dry it down so well especially if your going to clay it. Just get the clay on there but dont use the quick detailer just mix sme of the shampoo with some water and spray that on instead. No point wasting the quick detailer. Quote
