Drummer1 Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Hi everyone, I have a couple of questions about my car and I hope someone can maybe give me some advice. The car is a 2007 C5 Exclusive. PHONENo Navidrive so I assume this means no Bluetooth? Are there any retro-fit options that don't cost a fortune? I was thinking of getting a Parrot fitted and I don't like those sun visor speaker thingys. I have a button on the radio that says TEL but it doesn't seem to do anything. MUSICI have a multi CD under the drivers seat. Problem is I don't really have too many CD's. I have 100's of tunes on my android phone. Is there any way to connect my phone to the car via USB? I don't like those FM transmitter things, they're just too fiddly for me. Maybe I'm looking for non-existent solutions....but hopefully not! Many thanks Quote
seefive Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 helloThe TEL button is used when a car kit is added I believe There are add on items availabe for under £100 which give full control of iphones etc They work by emulating the cd changer functions - plugged into the changer outlet at the back of the radio Dension and Xcarlink seem to be the main players Quote
Drummer1 Posted November 26, 2014 Author Posted November 26, 2014 Is there a way to retro-fit a bluetooth adapter or something similar to use the phone hands free? Quote
seefive Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 Yes, bluetooth is an optional extra on the MP3 adaptors Quote
Drummer1 Posted November 27, 2014 Author Posted November 27, 2014 Thanks seefive Can you give me any more info on this option? Is it something that needs to be connected to the radio? If so, how?Where can I get one? Thanks Quote
seefive Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 They're all over ebay - search on "MP3 changer" in vehicle parts. They plug into the changer port on the back of the radio, and provide a connection point in your glovebox. You can then plug in usb or sd card or ipod, and a bluetooth add-on if required. Check the changer has the features you want - they're not all the same. You may prefer to get the job done by an installer - any car radio retailer will be able to help Quote
