Hi all

My C5 Exclusive (Mk 1) has the Clarion CD changer under the drivers seat. I have not used it yet so I opened the flap and there is a cartridge inside but I cannot get it to come out. I pressed the 'eject' button but nothing happened. I have tried with the engine running and not running.

Am I missing a simple trick or is there a potential problem? If it's the latter does anyone know what the problem could be?

I first thought it might be a fuse but when I checked the owners manual I see that the fuse is number F10 (20amp) and this fuse is also responsible for other features such as suspension, steering wheel controls, multifunction display and audio system. All of those features seem to be working fine so perhaps the problem lies elsewhere.

Any ideas where I could start?

Many thanks

What happens when you press the source button a few times? Does cd changer appear on the screen? If not, it's probably not connected or activated - it draws power from the head unit.

When I press the source button nothing happens regarding the cd changer. If I have a cd in the head unit then that will activate and play when I press it but not the cd changer.

What can I do to connect or activate the cd changer?

for connection - pull the head unit out (torx T10 screwdriver in the 2 holes)- cd changer is one of the lower connections in the quadlock connector . Also check theconnections at the changer itself.

Activation has to be done at a main dealer.

hard to say without knowing the history of the car. if it was built with the changer, it's hard to believe it would not have been activated. If the radio had been replaced at some time they may have neglected to activate the changer port on the replacement..

Also.......does this car come with an AUX input jack? I don't see one but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. I was wondering if I could connect my phone to the car to play music.

There are 2 connections (ports) on the lower part of the quadlock at the back of the radio, One is for the cd changer, as described above, and the other enables the connection of an auxiliary input lead, which you can run into your glovebox.

2 things to note

sensitivity is not good on the aux - you will probably find yourself short of volume

as with the changer, you will need a main dealer to activate the aux port
