humptyw Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Hello all. I'm new here. My drivers side wing mirror caught an oncoming one and is needing replacing. I have got one from the local scrap yard which will need respraying as is the wrong colour. I am trying to remove the bottom cover where the flasher light is (indicator). I've removed the indicator glass and am struggling to detach the cover. I have removed the obvious 2 allen head screws also. I want to remove the cover to spray it. I have removed the large front cover. Also, how do I remove the drivers inside door panel to access and remove the old the wing mirror please. Any advice or help would be much appreciated. Quote
humptyw Posted January 5, 2015 Author Posted January 5, 2015 OK. I got the cover off with a little bit of brute force. Just needed indicator prizing out and 2 allen screws removing followed by a careful prizing open all round bit by bit with a flat head screwdriver. As I did with the main cover. Snapped free and seems in tact. I am still struggling to know how to remove the drivers inside door panel though. Any help appreciated. Quote
Gilbern Invader Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Lift out the window/mirror switch block and disconnect the wiring plugs. Remove the screws along the bottom (one is behind the reflector I think) and the screw in the centre finger pull underneath the round plug. Ease out the panel from the bottom and work up both sides, unclip the wiring connectors and the wire pull to the door open handle and lift up and off. Bolt securing wing mirror is behind insulation.
