Tucker9037 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Hi, when I switch my car off sometimes I can hear an " electrical " sound coming from the engine area. This will last for around 30 seconds then stop. What is this? It's a 2008 c5 tourer Quote
MikeLane Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 If your C5 has the same quirks as my 2005 model it's probably the cars "system" (ECU and other management systems) shutting down. It's likely that you can operate windows, wipers etc. in this mode and then, after a faint click, you can't. (This is why one should wait a minute or so, after switching the engine off, before disconnecting any battery lead.)Also the fan might continue to operate after switching off but this is quite loud. Parkesie Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Often the suspension will level its self after everyone has got out and the pump will do its thing for a few seconds. Quote
Porsche430 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 If you have an automatic or piloted manual gearbox, it will "powerlatch" after the ignition has been switched off for about 30 seconds. Quote
MikeLane Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Welcome Tucker to the wonderful world of the C5 fan club! Quote
