Rich_Eason Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 OK we all have them (?) The little grey scratch card that is the holy grail to Citroen Ownership. Dealer offered me his wise words of wisdom... "Dont loose it, if you loose your keys they need this is what you need to get a new set. If you breakdown or get locked out the number can be used to assist you to get back in and going again, but dont leave it in the car as a thief can use it to get your car" Now am I being thick but if you leave it in the car chances are if you are locked out and its in the car, thats not much use. Take it everywhere with you with your worldly belongings and it get lost, mislayed, stolen, et al. So you leave it in a safe place at home somewhere where you know EXACTLY where it is. Only that when you are on the M5, 34miles from home in the rain and the AA man is asking for the grey scracth card you can confidently tell him that it is in that safe place at home. So where do you keep yours? Quote
wozza Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Its somewhere in one of the boxes / bags from when i moved house...not entirely sure. But its safe lol. Quote
hertsnminds Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Why not just leave it in the car and write it down on a piece of paper as well (keep it in the same pace as all of your PIN numbers). You could also keep a note of it in your mobile phone. IanBlack 55 VTR+ Quote

However I struggle with big numbers...anything above 4 digits and I'm done for. :D Again the dealer confirmed its stature by informing us not to scratch off the panel unless absolutly neccessary. He put so much emphasis on this damn card I wondered if the car self destructed on removal. I just hope that if I scratch the panel off 3 £10,000 pounds are printed under it and I can take it to the local news agents and claim my winnings :D Quote
Mat Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Mine was scratched off when they gave me the car on day 1. Quote
jonfish Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 1) First day of ownership, read the manual "DON'T scratch off"2) 1500 mile sevice. Handed over keys and they scratched it off infront of me.So I suppost it is OK to scratch off and memorise. Quote
