My priming pump is sometimes noisy(pulsating) when I turn on the ignition first thing in the morning, the engine starts ok but runs slightly rougher than normal and doen't like idling and occacionaly cuts out when changing gear. Its only like this for a few minutes and then runs fine.

It has brought the engine management light on a few times but after a few successful starts the light goes out.

I had it rigged up to my citroen dealers computer today and they "suspect"

the lift pump or the high pressure pump but couldn't confirm exactly which.

All that they would say is that it has had a fuel pressure fault.

Has anyone else had a similar problem to this and if so, what did you do to fix it and of course how much?

BTW its a Xsara 2.0 Hdi estate 2004. Cheers.
