Hi All

I have an issue with my dispatch, the turbo isn't kicking in so power is little and drives like a slug.

There is smoke coming from the bottom of the turbo or at least I think its the bottom of the turbo.

The guy i got the van from said it had a turbo replacement last week and it is most likely clogged or a lead.

The mechanic let me down today and I need to be back on the road by monday, so I want to know if I need to change the turbo and if i could do it myself? If I can what else would I need to do ?

Thank you.

ford now say that once a turbo goes on a 1.6 then the whole engine should be changed. google 1.6 hdi turbo failure then take the van back and get a refund. sorry to not give you any good news but 1.6,s are renowned for turbo failure
