MikeLane Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Hi there - I get a loud rumbling noise from my 2005 1.6 HDi when accelerating hard. I noticed it at first when driving up hills on very narrow curving roads in Wales. My partner says she could feel juddering through her feet. On testing further I find that it occurs when I push the pedal to the metal in any gear from around 2000 - 2500 rpm. No abnormal noises when cruising at up to 80mph (when overtaking of course!) as long as the pedal isn't near the floor and no change to "normal" performance.Could this be "turbo over-boost"? Quote
madmadmax Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 over-boost would put it in limp mode. it could be a dry wheel bering or many other things Quote
MikeLane Posted March 29, 2015 Author Posted March 29, 2015 (edited) over-boost would put it in limp mode. it could be a dry wheel bering or many other thingsAccording to the brochure Over Boost gives another 8% torque.I wondered whether I had a problem with ESP as most of the juddering occurs whilst having to use a lot of accelerator pedal when going uphill round fairly sharp bends?
