Hi All,

I have been driving automatics for a very long time, as I just can not see the point of a manual - must be getting lazy. !

My question is does anyone know how to drive a C5 with an adaptive auto-box?. As I said earlier I have been driving auto for a long time (years), but this is the first with the adaptive box.

  1. Driving normally, relatively sedately, the gearbox goes up & down the gears smoothly and without fault.
  2. Driving a little more enthusiastically, keeping below 3,000 revs and the same with a little longer between 5th & 6th.
  3. Now, if I floor the throttle, like in an over taking maneuver, it will change down to a more suitable gear and take off - great. However, it will not change up again when I lift my foot off the throttle like you would do with 'normal' auto boxes, my owners manual even states, on page 66, "If you suddenly lift your foot off the accelerator, the gearbox will guard your safety by not changing up again."  but it does not say anything on how to get it to change up again, my answer is to use the 'trip-tronic' method, but sure I should not have to!
  4.

Is there n instruction booklet explaining how the system works and how it should be driven?

Thanks in advance

Stu
