cmcternan Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Ok I got my C4 back yesterday. At last , some decent handling!!!!However I have a major problem. Because they have been fixing an electrical fault, all my settings have been reset. Most of them I can fix except the really annoying alarm that comes on when the car goes over 75. Now I now this is verging on law breaking but it really is a pain in the a**e!! Does anyone know how to put it off. There are a few pages missing from my manual and I think the info for this must be on one of them. Quote
Stuey Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 is your speed limiter on?? the scroll wheel on the left hand side of the steering wheel, put it in the middle that should clear it. If is it the "zero" posistion then I have no idea... Quote
Rich_Eason Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Alarm? I wasnt aware of an alarm being able to be set to a sound at any specific limit...? Only thing I can suggest is to go into Menu - Vehicle Settings - and see if there is anything in there to turn it off. If not I can only assume that this will be a dealer setting. As far as I am aware the limiter only prevents you accelerating over the set speed and will not alarm you. Strange one this.... B) Quote
cmcternan Posted October 13, 2006 Author Posted October 13, 2006 Its not the limiter. Thats at position 0. Looks like I'll have to phone the garage. Going on a long drive tomorrow and I certainly don't want that thing bleeping at me all the time. Quote
Stuey Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Strange one this.... <_< my thoughts exactly... Quote
C4VTS Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 What alarm ? I don't have an alarm that warns of going over speed limit. Is this something new? Quote
wozza Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 When the alarm comes on does it sate anything on the screen? As i've never heard of an alarm for the speed before in the C4. Quote
welshys90 Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 i know sum1 that has it on the c5 i dont think there is a way of turnin it off i im sure theres a box in the engine if u disconnect it it does it maybe it happens if u hit the engine lock switch under the bonnet Quote
iannez Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 yes you can turn it off and on when you want check for over speed warning in your hand book. Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 My mother has just returned from San Pedro and had a C3 hire car, she said that whenever it went over 120kph an alarm came on, seeing as she knows nothing about cars and couldn't read the Spanish user guide she just kept below 120. Quote
philstott1983 Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 I once had the C2 and on the front near the stereo there was a button that, if you held in at a desired speed, it beeped over that speed. The speed could be set at any time, but this was just mearly the speed limiter, which the C4 has but you have your's set to 0. Look's like somebody will be adhearing to the motorway speed limits for some time ;) Quote
Mat Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Ages ago, KFK listed all the things the Citroen software would enable/disable, here. Overspeed alert is listed. Quote
Rich_Eason Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Yet again we are all driving similar models but all have different functions?! Why dont they send them all out of the dealers with the same functions ALL enabled then we all "have the same" SX, VTR's and VTS's. Besides which it saves all the oiks like us going back to the dealers asking for it to be enabled.... This one sounds cozy! :o "Presence of the welcome function for the rear passengers" and this one scary! "Kilometre threshold for forcing of customer mode" ...Handy"Option for opening the boot via the high frequency remote control" Quote
