xt500cc Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Hi I'm very new, just traded my C2 for a used C4 Coupe VTR+ HDI 1.6, FANTASTIC LOOKIN' MOTOR, 23,500 miles on a 2005 in metallic black so not too bad, and being honest it looks to have been well looked after.Even though i've bought from a main dealer i immediately found faults on picking it up on the way home (typical eh?).The heater blows hot on the drivers side and cold on the passenger, i notice this is quite a common fault but also i noticed the clutch getting drier and drier when needing to say reverse up a slope, i've booked it back in for these to be fixed under warranty, i'll report back on progress. PS Has anyone else had jerky clutches??? Si Wils Quote
C4VTS Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Welcome to this great forum  Not really had any clutch problems here. I had the heater problem on my ex-demo C4 before I collected it, as I spotted the problem during test drive in the hot UK summer <_< They had to replace the whole heater box which was a long job, but I am told by local dealer that they can now order just the plastic gear that controls the temperature. Good luck. :o Quote
welshys90 Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 never had the problem of a sticky click myself mines tends to come off quicker than i want to sometimes i dunno if thats the same as everyones but i tend to find myself halfway round a roundabout before i realise it Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 I only really find that i comes off a bit to quick (and very jerky when it does) in reverse. Not really a problem, just look a bit of a burk! <_< Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 My clutch is sticky and grates around the halfway point of the throw. Asked the dealer to sort it, they oiled the pedal, most of which ended up on the mat. Quote
Rich_Eason Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 A few members of the forum are reporting the clutch issue, i experience the same every now and then. It does seem to be worse after driving the car in heavy traffic or where you rely on a lot of hill starts. A longer drive seems to sort mine out and not come back until you get stuck in traffic again, which where I live is very common  Quote
