Right...

Just had a call from my mate. At the weekend he has just bought a Citroen Visa GTI as a "project". This probably means as any of his other projects, a car that is held together with tape and blu tak and if it went above 20mph bits would start to fall off.

Anyone know any history of these cars? I'd imagine being light and made of tin foil and a Pug 205 GTI (1.6) engine (anyone clarify?) in them they'd go like a ferrit down Ar'Niges trouser leg.

He's pulling my plonker saying that running "sweet" if at all...he would be able to give my VTS a run for its money...

Need I be scared?! I'm worried about its power (or lack of) and light weight...

they were quick cars in their day so upto 60 mph theyll be the same or there abouts but after that the vts would be better and better brakes handling. 115 bhp as standard if i remember with the 205 1.6 engine init.

was it the one off ebay a few months ago?

No contest :D

I overtook a TVR 500 the other night on my way to the pool hall - the fact that he was sitting at the traffic lights which had turned green as I approached probably helped "a little" :P :)

Have no idea where he has got it from, I didnt get much chance to discuss too much as I am in work...

Its only after the call did it twig what the car was...I can imagine they have significantly more body roll than a C4!

Still be interesting to see what comes of it, certainly something a little different.

Welsh- someone did this to me the other night joining the M32, he insisted to cut me up in doing so on the aproaching roundabout and commenced titting about....he was in a Yaris T Sport...and I was gone :D :P

If we are going to make a competition of this......

roll over and let me take my place atop the leader board.

I overtook a Lamborgini (spelling?) the other week!!! :D :)

It was moving also, which helps the man points! :D

I was taking some mates home after a party (the next morning i might add, if i drink, i dont drive!!) and we saw this yellow flash across a rounbdabout. There was another car nut in the car and we both knew it was a lambo.

I ended up behind him (with a little re-routing) and he was joining the M25. He was in the left hand lane of the slip road going quite slow, i have always dreamed of overtaking a supercar, and i thought, 'this is my chance'. I indicated right and moved to the right-hand lane. The second he saw my indicator he was off! :D

I managed to join the motorway at the same time as him, but he left no gap infront of him when he joined on, therefore he could not move out, i pulled into the middle lane (doing about 60mph) and sailed past him! :D :P :D :D

I have never seen a Visa before so I googled it...damn that car is ugly!! should make a good sleeper car though...

I have done a lambo off the lights. The guy didnt know it was a race though, when I pulled past him he floored it shot past and my windows where vibrating like mad, I caught up with him further down the road and he had a Tubi Style exhaust on it which is a straight through system so no silencing...noise of champions!!

Well you see this is my thinking, they must be about as heavy as bugger all as they still have that 80's Citroen quality build therefore thin panels and they look fragile! = lightweight. Quick of the line perhaps but top speed minimal.

Ugly....perhaps but there is something about them that is a bit purposeful. Allthough the posistion of the back wheels makes it look ungainly! I believe a set of the wheels on the Visa are the same used on the AX GT and can go for a bit on ebay every once in a while.

Found this site LINK where a guy has modded one for sprint. Claims it pushes out 170bhp and does 0-60 in 6.5..... :D

I think this would be an interesting one. My Dad used to have a basic Visa and this has got me remembering and doing a bit of internet research (well it beats work). The Visa was a very light car by todays standards, the gti was only 870kg, compare that to 1337kg of the vts. This means the power to weight ratio is almost identical, which is a more realistic indicator of performance. Ok so the Visa will lean at 45 degrees round the bends, but that can help the grip too.

Dad's only had the 2 cylinder 652cc engine and that still went ok, but it would make your ears bleed!

I still rather have my vts any day though!
