After 3 months and many visits to the garage I finally got my C4 back in full working order last Thu, and I can honestly say I'm well chuffed!!

I've just spent some time reading posts from people who are clearly unhappy with their car and I can sympathise with them. I waited 3 months for a garage to isolate and fix my problems (reminder: it was the climate control and the cruise control) but now that I've got it back I can't complain.

And on enquiring what caused the problem, it was in actual fact, nothing to do with citroen. The previous owner has installed high performance speakers and sub and whoever wired it up really messed up. As soon as it was switched on, it fried a lot of the circuit boards. So I was very lucky Citroen carried out the work under warrenty

To those people who seem really p****d off with their C4 all I can suggest is stop moaning, sell it and buy into something boring like a Golf or Focus!!!

Incidentally I might be selling the 6X9's that he left. They are Infinity Kappa. Keep your eyes on E-bay if your interested.

Well my C4 went into the body shoop today after some berk drove into me and I have a Golf 1.6FSI, short version I'd rather the C4.

Long version the FSI engine has more low down torque than a standard petrol engine so is more diesel like in needed less revs, but when you do rev it, it goes quite sprightly for a 1.6.

Boot not quite as large.

I like:

Wingmirrors that are a decent shape and are very usable for reversing/manouvers.

Gearbox, short throw very precise.

Foot rest next to the clutch pedal, come on citroen you guys did it with the Xsara so why not on the C4???

I didn't like:

The finish, about on par with the C4, a long step doen for a 'prestige' name and not as good as the current Skodas

Steering - very little feel not much feel, the C4 may be a little on the light side but I've a good idea what the wheels are doing.

Centre console, some nice 'stylish' trim on the centre console but rubs against my left leg when changing gear, Thank god I'm not driving in London this week.

Maybe spoiled by the C4 but as a similar price car it's stingy with the kit, no front fog lights, no cruise control, no trip computer.

Last impression:

I'd save my money and buy a C4, get a more fun car to drive and extra kit.

Basically the same view i have on the Golf's. Good cars but not what people make them out to be as some of the best things on the road.

And it just does not have any character. The C4 has loads.

Got my C4 back from the bodyshop, they did a good job on the front wing but left some bits of filler on the rear wing paintwork, . Fleet company are not worried as it is only a little bit of muck and are happy to write it off. I might have a go at scraping it off gently with a scalpel to get the thick off and give it a touch up.

Spent most of this weekend driving around, oh the joy of having a car that responds and you can feel what the steering is doing.
