gimpee67 Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Hi Our recently expanded family means we now have 3 kids 4 years old and younger. The 97/R Honda Civic just wont do the job now. Having done some initial research I have decided that the best option in the mini MPV/5 seater category is the Xsara Picasso SX (petrol or Diesel). Could anyone advise as to whether I am making the right choice and what size engine I should be looking at? My budget is tight and I would probably be looking at older models (2000-2002). I am thinking of going to auction (ebay or BCA) to get the cheapest, I will have to settle for selling the Honda Civic privately as part-ex with an independant dealer isnt something I feel confident about. Thanks Quote
iannez Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 it would make a cacking family car. 2.0 hdi would be the one i would go for. 45mpg and more power than the 1.6 and 1.8 petrol. Quote
AlanFC Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 More power than a 1.8 petrol? I don't have the figures but I doubt it. Don't you mean more torque? Quote
iannez Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 2.0 hdi = 90 bhp. 1.8 16v = 130. sounds funny i know but drive them and make your own mind up. hdi will run rings round petrol below 100mph. Quote
