I know this is daft, but can someone give me a quick guide to how you adjust the clock to allow for winter time?

Look in your handbook I can hear you shout. Well I would except that the catch on my glovebox seems to have stuck shut and I can't get to my handbook cos it is in the glovebox! The handle/lever thingy to open the glove box now seems to hang at a strange angle, although I didn't force it. I'm sure I have read of others with this glovebox problem - I assume it is covered under warranty?

Anyway, I would like to set my clock to show the correct time without waiting for the dealer to let me get to the handbook so any simple instructions would be most gratefully received!

if you look at the bottom of the glove box the door will have popped out of it`s retaining clips push it back and it should open your glove box then you can get your handbook out good luck!!!

For one: The handbook should not be put in the glovebox!

and for two: The glovebox is now not covered under the warranty!!

To change the time, you need to access the menu (either through the headunit on some models (like my VTR), or through the steering wheel controls).

On my VTR menu system the time is under "Display adjust" and then under "Hour".

Its under a different menu in the VTR+. Basically when you hit menu you want the one in the middle. Then the one in the middle on the second screen.

Time changed successfully! Thanks Wozza - followed your instructions for my VTR+ and all is now as it should be.

Called in to the dealer and they are going to look at my glovebox on Wed. - under warranty I think.

I tried the D&T method of fixing the glovebox, but the problem is definately with the opener/handle thingy, its not that the door has popped off its hinges.

Hopefully it will be sorted on Wed.

Only time mine got stuck is due to my mother slamming it and getting something caught in it. Bit of heavy handed smacking and pulling at the sides got it open again. Worked fine since. Bit like the small drawers on the dash one of mine got stuck open due to me keeping change in it and a 50p coin getting stuck behind it stopping it from closing. Just had to yank it out.

I can see Citroen saying not covered by warranty,

as you are not supposed to put change in the change drawer.

If its something like that i'll fix it myself. Taken most of the interior out or apart before.

And my change now goes in the ashtray...have mints in the trays now

But knowing citroen they would probably say that. Although to be fair on my dealer there usually pretty good.

This is the most annoying aspect for me - because I use an aftermarket stereo I have to remove my stereo and replace it with the original in order to change the time! A lot of effort...so for the last few months my clock has been an hour slow...

Now with the clocks going back...it's perfect  No effort involved either...just mother nature!

Have you thought about asking Citroen if you can get the buttons from the VTR+ on the steering wheel so you can change it? The wiring is probably already there.

Didn't realise the VTR+ buttons were located on the steering. This might be useful in the future - cheers Wozza.

I'm looking to continue to use an aftermarket stereo - I'm currently looking at a JVC AVX2 unit, and connecting that upto a portable freeview box. The only concern of mine is that the "lip" above the DIN slot may interfere with the unit as I've been told it "raises" to accept CD/DVDs. Reception might be a problem as well, but then again there are plenty of discret places to put arials in.

Rather than get the JVC spend a little extra and you can get the 7" touch screen one from pioneer thats a good unit for the price. Id look at that can add satnav etc to it as well.

And yeah VTR+ has the menu, mode, escape, ok dark buttons and the dimmer all mounted on the steering wheel in the 2 lower sections. hence why i can use an aftermarket system and loose no functionality.

Top right is stereo controls everyone gets them. And everyone gets top left which is cruise / speed limiter.

VTR+ / VTS get the menu buttons etc although thinking about it not sure if they will work on the VTR /VT with them having different screens to use VTR+ /VTS owners.

And bottom left is air con, bluetooth, and interior light adjustment. which you also dont get on the VT / VTR.

Still wish Alpine would get off there arse and get an adapter for my head unit to work with the steering controls for me. Numerous emails for the last year all got similar response its still in development.

A 7" screen would be cool, but they do tend to be expensive, and I really like the look of these little units. They also have the advantage that the FULL face is detatchable, not just a section like on most fold out screen units.

The picture would be small, but it would be cool to watch/listen to Sky Sports News on the move ;)

And BBC 1Xtra rocks :)

My next door neighbour has got a 7" screen in his car got the top of the range pioneer unit over £1000 brilliant unit. Would love one myself now.

Was thinking of getting one of the Alpine units though as there not too expensive and i like the fact the screens give some feedback when you press a button on the screen and can feel it.
