Hi all

Assistance required. Yesterday went on a bit of a Sunday drive taking in the sights of Somerset, Devon and Dorset covering nearly 300miles.

As the day progressed I began to notice that my exaust on the VTS was starting to "chirp" and "plonk" whilst going over pot holes and "Cats Eyes"...basically sounds like it is rubbing against something at the rear. Only heard with the window down whilst going along and I can replecate the noise by slamming the boot.

By the trip home it had turned into an audible noise inside the car in and around the driverside rear seat...I have managed to discount the mother-in-law who was sat in the back at the time...are there any known causes of this as I thought I read something similar effecting a diesel varient? Or do you think this has been caused by exessive heating over the long journey times?... typically 1.5 - 2hours.

Sidenote....Although plastered in road dirt, mud and seagull sh*te (and still is) it was parked up along Weymouth Harbour for a while. Whilst walking down the other side of the harbour, again witnessed some people were peering in through the windows...if people are that curious about the car get down the citroen garage and buy one....or is the dealer "the issue" why we dont see many more of these cars on the road?

Cut your jibes Welshguy, this is a very sensitive and personal matter!

Nothing different just got in and drove away and would not or could not make it make the noise.....

I guess I'd put it down as just one of those things

I'm with you on this, Rich. Nothing worse than a 'new' unexplained noise to add to the list.
