North riding Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 HiI have a 2005 C5 and the rear central belt will not pull out.In an attempt to free this I have tilted the seat forward to give more play in the belt but to no avail.I have also removed the plastic part to try and get to the mechanism but this is within the seat and very hard to access.Has anyone had this problem and any suggestions welcome.Currently over tight and stuck... MikeLane Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Haven't had this problem. Can you press the red button down into the housing? Quote
North riding Posted August 31, 2016 Author Posted August 31, 2016 Hi,The seatbelt is retracted, the belt is stuck inside the reel.I have heard that folding the seat flat and striking the back several times with a rubber mallet may free the jammed mechanism? So will give this a go but do not have a solution.... Quote
North riding Posted August 31, 2016 Author Posted August 31, 2016 Unfortunately after trying to release the coiled seatbelt by tapping back of area with a mallet the belt is now tighter and there is not enough play to put the back seat up! Not a good situation.Any advice welcome... Quote
