DJVile Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Hey everyone. Bin reading all the forum for the last 3 weeks, so i thought it was about time that i posted. Recently ordered myself a black 2.0 HDI VTS with JBL and Spoiler. Just waiting for it to come in. Sold my current car at the weekend ( Mazda MX-5 2.0 Sport) so im using a courtesy car at the mo. I have got a Fiat Seciento 1.1 Mia. It was nice of the dealer to lend me the car till mine comes in, but OMG i hate it!!!!!!! I cant wait till mine comes in!!!! Please hurry Citroen! Quote
wozza Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Welcome to the board mate. Nice choice of car as well. Quote

DJVile Posted November 6, 2006 Author Posted November 6, 2006 I definatley will do. Ill also post when i know the date i pick her up. Ill make sure it still has the showroom shine LMAO Quote
Stuey Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 mine was a bit grubby when I fetched, its cleaner now then when I picked it up  Quote
ham's c4vts Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 welco to the forum.your motor looked nice stuey! Quote
Stuey Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 your motor looked nice stuey! thanks very much...I did spend more than a few hours doing it ;) Quote
Rich_Eason Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 When I picked up mine from the dealer it looked like the pleb who had cleaned it was drinking fanta or something as it was all stuck to the dashboard and windscreen...I asked them to clean it and they were just about to make it worse by applying a "high gloss" dashboard cleaner to it....ick! Needless to say I had to clean it off when I got home ;) :P By the way...I got Supaguard chucked in for free however if I had paid for it I think I would be pretty pee'd. The salesman comments is firmly etched in my mind "its a great product you'll never have to need to wash the car EVER again" Besides which the picture of Tiff Needel on the box didnt really sell it to me either. I just have fond memories on Halfords training videos of yesteryear. Not really sure if it ever worked. Yes the water streams off the car for a few days after application, but cant say I can get excited about it enough that I wet my pants. Quote
Stuey Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I think they wanted £175 for the daimond bright treatment...told them where to stick it. You can see the valeting area from the showroom window at Citroen in Nottingham so I could see that it is just a big spray bottle and they give it a quick go over with that... regular cleaning and good quality wax will give you the same effect... Quote
Rich_Eason Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Exactly you cant beat a good bit of elbow grease to give you maximum satisfaction ;) Yes not bad for free, but no way would recommend paying for it... Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Supaguard is a waste of money IMO. I have had my VX Armourfended which is a much more worthwhile product. Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Can you see the protection (some sort of plastic film?)?? Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 It is a thin layer of plastic film which is not visible unless you inspect the car very closely. Reduces the risk of stone chips. Quote
Rich_Eason Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 How is it applied? Spray on or applied? Agree with Supaguard complete tosh. No way can I be fagged to pay the £25 for the top up kit. The interior was done as well so if I ever did have the misfortune of a spillage in the car at least "I hope" the product holds up to its claims...which i doubt Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Mine was professionally applied although I believe you can buy the film and apply it yourself if you are feeling brave and reckon you won't get any air bubbles. I have it on the front clam and rear arches, all of which are prone to stone chips Quote

Stuey Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I reckon you should see how long to you can go without cleaning the Clio!! you wont last a week :P I was following a quarry truck the other morning just after it had been raining, the front of my car is now caked in mud. 4 hours washing/clay baring/polishing/waxing foiled in 30 seconds. Futher Mucker! Quote
C4VTS Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I think the only reason men wash cars is to keep their woman happy. :( The same theory applies to housework. :P If women did not exist, our cars would be caked in mud and grime, and our houses would look like a council landfill site. :P Quote
wozza Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Thats actually true. When me and my mate had our flat as soon as one of the girls came round it was great. Washed the floors, washed the pots, swept up cleaned bin out etc. Never asked them to do it they just did. Was great i could sit in bed hungover and come out and the place would be tidy. If they did not come round for a week it was usually a hole. Quote
