Rookie2 Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 Hi BuddyIf you have just had the belt done I would refrain from starting it again, It could be any number of things along with, possibly, the timing being one or two teeth out.You need to get the timing checked and the tension of belt, before you start it again. jean claude van driver Posted January 16, 2017 Author Posted January 16, 2017 Cheers. would you believe the fitter is on holiday till next Monday. I moved it today to get my other van out. its suffering smelly smoke and diesel snap.clatters like a goodun. this is why I normally do my own service as this is the 3rd and last time I let a garage loose on my vehichles. Rookie2 Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Thats what they call "Sods Law". If you try to rectify it yourself now, then you are letting the bloke who did it off the hookj. If you dont do it yourself now, then you have to wait another week to be able to get it sorted. Life aint easy is it ? Quote
jean claude van driver Posted January 16, 2017 Author Posted January 16, 2017 Nope will leave it till next Monday. have use of another van but makes life difficult for work. but hey ho what can you do.in future diy. Quote
V234fdb Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 Sounds to me like egr valve. Mine did exactly the same. Wouldn't rev up past 2k and lots of smoke. But obviously if you just had the belt done then it starts ringing alarm bells Quote
