Hello Dear people,

I thought i would share this idea of mine incase it is of use to anyone else.

sorry if it has already been told before, please delete it if it has.

My new ride is a 2008 C5 exclusive 2.0 hdi.

I was a little miffed to realise that when it refers in the handbook to the car stereo being bluetooth compatable it is relating only to the phone connectivity. Some kind soul has fitted Parrot to the car in it past so the phone is connected no problem.

on the C5 there are two RCA sockets situated in the glove box, these are linked on the stereo to AUX input 2 .

I have a bluetooth unit it is round about 70mm diameter about 20mm thick and has a charge socket and a 3.5mm socket.

You'll find one online cheap enough.

my set up is so...... connect a 2 metre twin RCA lead from the glove box socket to the rear of the passenger seat.

the lead you need is a" 2m RCA to 3.5mm stereo jack lead"

pug your lead into the bluetooth unit, make sure it has a power lead from the ashtray socket at rear of centre console.

ensure the bluetooth unit is on, go into your menu on the car stereo and find AUX input. select it.

Now find your blutooth unit with your mobile phone or sony walkman(as I do) and you know have the music of your choice played through the really quite good music system of the C5. steering wheel controls working, no problem.

I have hidden the wires and trailed them to the rear of passenger seat so you don't have clutter of it all around the limited space of the gear stick. I just reach behind the seat and switch the unit on when i need it.

                                                                                                Hope this helps someone.

                                                                                                                               Regards Gary

I am also trying to fit Bluetooth to my c5 x7 2009 with the rt5 head unit in it, my unit as got mp3/satnave and hdd, i was told you could put the yatour/xcarlink/connect2 etc on the cd changer port and yes it is activated in the bsi, but it still will not work, i did buy the yatour £80 because they told me it will work on the RT5 head unit, but NOOOOOOO, when i told them my radio was the RT5 radio BUT with the hard drive in they told sorry this will not work and refunded me and told me to keep the item ??, so any body got the rt3 rd4 or rt5 radio WITH OUT the hdd and wants Bluetooth you can have it free, just pay post. I am still looking for a  builtin Bluetooth for my car, but so far nothing, i did look at the parrot but mounting it well ??, i know i have got phone built in to the car but cannot keep changing the sim all the time and the other reason is it is only 2g in the car and will not take 3g sim cards, i was looking at fitting a Bluetooth arduino module to the mother board on my rt5 radio and this may show up in the bsi as a Bluetooth module. Or i could spend ££££ on changing the head unit with bluetooth in it, but i do not know what will go in and couple up to the color  screen. if any body as don this please let me know what they bought, i do have lexia3 so coding it is not a problem.
