noorldin Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 HiI have new C4 5doors, it's Nice car at all But the audio System Very limitedOnly Audio-CD and Radio.can i to upgrade This system.. i hear of JBL upgrade or can i change the Audio unit? Thanks Quote
wozza Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Can change the audio unit few of us here already have very easy swap. only adaptor needed can be bought from Ebay or even your local dealer. and the standard unit is pretty much standard 1DIN size. You can add ipod support to the standard unit though but depends what you want to upgrade it to? JBL system is not worth the money if your buying it aftermarket simply not a big enough upgrade for the money involved but looks tidy. But you would get a better system buying a new set of front component speakers 4channel amp and a small subwoofer. Which can be done on a budget and fullfill the needs of a nicer system. And half decent headunits can be picked up relatively cheaply as well. Quote
C4VTS Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 It also depends what model C4 you have as some models need the radio for the display menu control, and others need the radio for the reverse audible warning. Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Can i just ask what country you are from?!?Just English is obviously not your first language, if it is i am sorry!! Quote
noorldin Posted November 10, 2006 Author Posted November 10, 2006 Can i just ask what country you are from?!?yes i am syrian.. sorry for bad translation. my car need the radio for the display menu control, and others need the radio for the reverse audible warning. The ipod support to the standard unit Good Idea But i already have Sony MP3 player so can i support it substitute Ipod? i need some links if possible. with respect to JBL system (about 1000$) i think it support Bluetooth and Mp3 and keep radio for the display menu control, and others need.citroen dealer here say that no way to Connect Ipod or any External deviceto audio unit! Thanks Quote
wozza Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Your citroen dealers are wrong then as plently of the UK users have done this. You need the 9706AG cable then the AUX port enabling. Any portable MP3 player can be plugged in to it just uses the standard headphone plug. JBL system is pointless to be honest for that kind of price. Just buy some component speakers and a small amplifier if you want a subwoofer buy a 4 channel amplifier and power it from 2 of the channel on the amp. Quote
noorldin Posted November 10, 2006 Author Posted November 10, 2006 How can i get the 9706AG cable? i think our dealer have no idea about that! Thanks Quote
C4VTS Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 How can i get the 9706AG cable? i think our dealer have no idea about that! Thanks Get your dealer to ring head office as I think that is what my supplying dealer did, and they faxed through a wiring diagram. It is a Peugeot part also. Quote
Rich_Eason Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Can i just ask what country you are from?!?Just English is obviously not your first language, if it is i am sorry!! Not intending to upset anyone however... I'm really struggling to hold back and be restrained here and perhaps being a bit over sensitive....but what has this got to do with anything, does a comment like this add value to the forum discussion? People may be dyslexic, from another part of the world where English is not their native language, or may only have basic reading and writing skills...but please don’t mock people on the forum for poor English/grammar. I know for a fact my English isn't perfect, however I know for sure I wouldn’t know where to start with speaking Syrian let alone sit on an internet forum and ask about car audio systems. We should welcome all to the forum, and not make them apologise for bad translation, spellings etc... Apologies, if you are offended by my comment but think it is relevent not to the topic, but is relevent to comments such as this. Quote
wozza Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 I agree with that. Although with me being a mod i can check where he is from by clicking his IP address. Which i check on a lot of people anyway. But if i see anyone putting people down for stupid things like grammar etc i will step in but 90% of the time the forum is not big enough yet for me to have to do very much. Most of my moderating revolves around me removing spam bot posts. But if anyone does have a problem only takes pm / email or a quick message via msn to let me know whats wrong. But on topic of the audio Citroen can be a bit useless lots of people are asking for this cable here so there a little more clued up if its not so popular there you may need to give them directions on what to do. Rich_Eason Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Wozza I'm happy with that, as much of a friendly environment this forum provides I think we perhaps need to just bare in mind and respect those who wish to contribute. Sorry if I've been out of turn  Quote

Apologies, if you are offended by my comment but think it is relevent not to the topic, but is relevent to comments such as this. I was never intending to upset anyone :D If i had looked at this topic earlier i would have said that there is no need to apoliogise due to the bad translation, but i obviously have to re-post at once before i get slated. :D  from another part of the world where English is not their native language Which is exactly what i was curious about. It is interesting to know how far spread this forum is, and I am sorry for being curious but please don’t mock people on the forum for poor English/grammar. You show me one way in which i was mocking his English, and i will happily be put down, but i was not, therefore i am not going to sit here and take it without standing up for myself. If anything i have huge respect for the guy, i am rubbish at foriegn languages, and would have no clue what do to on a foriegn forum. I would most likely use bablefish and get the completly wrong idea across, which to be honest is not too far off what is happening now! ;) :( Again we reach the point where emotion cannot be portrayed in text, therefore people get the wrong idea. There is a huge chance that people will take this post the wrong way aswell, but that is not my problem. I am voicing an opinion, and if people want to twist it, manipulate it, and change it to make me sound like some ***oops***, then that is your decision, but a ***oops*** i am not! Quote
Rich_Eason Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Ciaran No one is trying to portray you as something that we all know you are not...however I feel we all need to think about how some people may portray the things we write and as the author, review the other ways in which it can be read. I just take slight offence to these types of comments as it shouldnt matter where the person is from and if their english is poor, we are all grown ups and can help the forum members as much as we can irespective of languege abilities. If you are curious as to the location, there are other more simple/polite ways of asking someone where they are, one of them isnt to reminding or informing them that their english is poor. You are obviously a very emotional person and you just have to accept that there are people on the forum including me, are going to read things differently to the way that you perhaps intended. All I am saying is just be careful how you write things and think how it may read. Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Well, infact his english is anything but poor, considering that it is not his first language, there are many things that effect weather something is good or not. If a cleaner gets a £1000 xmas bonus (dont know if that is alot or too little) they may think that is great, but, if a city worker got a £1000 xmas bonus, i think they might interpret that differently and may think it is bad. I know a friends father who work in a city bank in London and got a 1 Million pound bonus for xmas, so this year if he got a grand that would be rubbish.......think you get the point. I never said his english was poor, it is a hell of a lot better than my French, for instance, even considering i was taught it from the age of about 7-15!! :P Let alone my Sryian (I dont even know what to call the language let alone speak it, so that earns him alot of respect!) Anyway, lets just forget about it, i am getting ebmarrased that my foriegn languages are so bad!! :D  Whatever i say on this forum it is not meant to be hurtfull in any way whatsoever! :D If it is, i am sorry and it was not meant to be. The cable: The T.Wells dealership said that it would cause more problems than it would solve, but Crawley did it for me. There are many people on this forum with the cable and i am sure if you printed off some of this and showed it to your local dealer, then they will have some idea of what to do, or who to contact. Providing that there is someone who can read english there!!! ;) Quote
ham's c4vts Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Well Said Rich,i think in the UK we are quite ignorant not learning another language be it French, German or even Syrian. So can we have a very big welcome to noorldin.welcome to the forum and will you post some pictures soon? Quote
