Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and am looking for a little help if possible.

For a few weeks I've had a problem where my car is very difficult to start, it will turn over for 30-40 seconds before it fires up, when it does start it plumes out white smoke for about a minute until it warms up slightly. Once warm it is still smokey, mostly at around 2000 rpm, and at low revs it is loud and rattly like an old transit van, once the revs are over about 2300 it's quiet again.

I've done the usual stuff, oil and filter, air filter, fuel filter as well, drained the tank and topped up with fresh diesel and fuel system cleaner etc. But nothing helped.

I plugged in my Lexia and got the following codes.

Fault code P1163, permanent fault. No resetting by accelerometer - No periodic injector resetting

Fault code P0204, permanent fault, Cylinder 4 injector circuit injection time correction outside limits.

Without doing any more work to it, if I clear the fault codes it will stop smoking, start first click of the key and drive like a brand new car. Then between a day and a week later it will randomly struggle to start and I'll have the same symptoms and fault codes again until I clear them.

I've had this car for nearly 2 months and I've had more problems with it than I had with my 1.4 HDi Xsara in 7 years of ownership. Can anyone offer any advice to help me get it fixed properly.

Regards, Gus.
