philH Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 My C4 (15,500 miles) is on its third trip back to the menders in as many weeks with the Depollution system warning aglow. So far I have had the latest firmware upgrade and last week a chaffed pipe to the turbo replaced. Is there really a fault with the vehicle or just the warning system? My main concern is the long term reliability of this vehicle. My Xantia let me down once in 10 years. Quote
wozza Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 This happening just after filling it up by any chance? If so stop filling it so much if you fill it to the brim it will error. Otherwise might just be a faulty sensor. Quote
lab44 Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Could be as Wozza said a faulty sensor. Mine came up once when the engine temperature sensor went - had the engine temp sensor replaced and 5000 miles later hasnt come up again. Quote
philH Posted November 13, 2006 Author Posted November 13, 2006 Thanks for the replies, but I filled up last week. The common issues are: 1. It happens on a return trip from my business perhaps about 2 - 3 hours after previous use so the engine is not stone cold. 2. I'm travelling up a long hill, about 3/4 mile and I've probably been motoring for about 5 min from startup. However I came up the same hill the other way earlier in the day.3. I loose serious engine power when the warning light comes on until the engine is stopped then restarted. The engine regains full power although the warning light remains on. It went off the first time after about 3 days. Grumble grumble - Phil Quote
philH Posted November 17, 2006 Author Posted November 17, 2006 Garage has now ordered new turbo as it is apparently overboosting. Will update in due course. Quote
