rcandelori Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Hi from Sydney Australia! Just wondering whether anyone could tell me if the C4 can accept wider tyres - say 215/50 or 225/50 versions. I don't like after market rims and would like to keep the current 17 inch VTS rims. Does changing the tyre type screw up the tyre pressure monitor? Thanks! Quote
ham's c4vts Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Hi and welcome rcandelori, Not too shure as the pressures will be slightly different, measure behind the wheel and tyre to see what gap you've got. As for tyres 215/50/17 would be 10mm bigger diameter and your car would travel 31.45 mm more per revolution of your wheel 225/50/17 would be 20mm bigger diameter and your car would travel 62.8mm more per revolution of your wheel you would be better off going for an 18" 205/45/18 which is about 5mm bigger on diameter and 15.4mm more on a revolution of your wheel hope this helps and in my opinion i wouldnt bother going 10mm wider to 215, Quote
Welshguy Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 Yeah I believe they should fit comfortably - trust me.... I have 225/40/18 tyres with no problems, and a 30mm drop. Quote
ham's c4vts Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 there you go rcandelori, sorted, just have to find out about tyre sensors Quote

CoolCarbon Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Using the tyre size conversion software on one of the alloy wheel suppliers sites... 225/40x18 gives you the same rolling radius as the standard fitment 205/50x17 I'm just about to place an order for a set of 8x18" with the 225/40x18 wheels and tyres....which I have been told will fit... We'll see... ;) Quote
rcandelori Posted November 25, 2006 Author Posted November 25, 2006 Thanks for all your replies. Much appreciated. I would rather not get 18 inch wheels or lowered suspension as I prefer the appearance of the standard VTS 180 wheels and the suspension is already hard as it is without any lowering. (unless someone knows where I can get the C4 WRC concept 18 inch wheel + bodykit). Quote
Stuey Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 (unless someone knows where I can get the C4 WRC concept 18 inch wheel + bodykit). there is a set very much like the WRC ones from Milia Miglia, click me!!! The bodykit will follow next year according to Cituning (the people who do the Xsara WRC kit) Quote
