Windows down causes wind buffet and that flipping anoying resonance on the air pressure inside the car (does anyone else get this?)

Yup, every time the windows are open and you reach the right speed. Most effective way to stop the other half playing with the window controls :D (hurts her ears too much).

Yes! It is the same here! Only the reverse... she has the window right down and I half expect her to stick her head out the window like you see the dogs doing on the motorway. :P

Meanwhile in the drivers seat all I can hear is thud, thud, thud, thud, thud, thud, thud, thud, thud, thud, thud in my ears from the resonance.

ouch thats low, you must have very heavy feet!

my lowest is 27.3 mpg round town stuck in traffic and i do use a/c

Size 10's and good quality trainers!

The MPG has dropped dramatically recently from an average of about 31 round town to 20. Also my tank range has altered from 410 to 296miles. I know this is a very rudimentory way of calculting the range but...I'm putting it down to having to drive in very heavy traffic...at least I hope.

Lastnight 2bars had gone on a full tank and only covered 51miles.

I'm only getting an average speed of 14mph last time I checked, I'm hoping next fill up and a blast down the M5 will change things....

Colder weather increases fuel consumption, so it's not unusual to see a drop of up to 2mpg during the colder winter months.

In the summer the engine is more efficient due to warmer temperatures. ;)

wrote it was other way round for some reason on my other post. But cooler denser air means more fuel needed in the mix to balance it out so im blaming it on me being tired. It was after 3am when i posted lol.

I havent really done any specific calcuations but I had the air con on all summer and didnt really find it made much difference to my MPG. Seems to be more affected by my driving style and speed - makes alot of difference going at 60mph rather than 90. Current fuel consumption is somewhere between 35 and 40mpg, mostly on motorway.
