C4VTS Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Just checked my headlamp washers operation, and they just seem to spray all the water downwards onto my driveway, and very little water actually reaches the headlights. My driveway is now extremely wet with puddles. Is this correct or is something wrong? Quote
dave&trace Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Have your pipes split with the frost? :D Quote
C4VTS Posted November 26, 2006 Author Posted November 26, 2006 Have your pipes split with the frost? :D How would I know if the pipes have split? How can I examine the washers in more detail,as they only appear when you activate the washer? Is there a way of making them stay out, so I can check them? Quote
iannez Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 a pipe has most prob come off. xenon bulbs can melt the lens if it is dirty. thats why the washers are fitted so i would get it sorted as soon as poss. Quote
dave&trace Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 it is a bumper off job,is your car under warranty? if so get lots of screen wash in bottle and take it to dealer! good luck. Quote

C4VTS Posted November 26, 2006 Author Posted November 26, 2006 Thanks, will get it checked at the dealer ASAP as should be under warranty. Quote
wozza Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Could still be a bumper off job only around 5 or 6 bolts hold the bumper on not difficult when theres a couple guys working on it with the right tools can get them off fairly quickly. Although have not got a clue as to what they do lol. Quote
iannez Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 wozza's right. thats all it takes to remove bumper and it has to be done. Quote
terrwilk Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Hi all, Which models have headlamp wash?I can't see any nozzles on mine!! Terry Quote
Rich_Eason Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Any vehicle which is fitted with HID/Xenon call them what you will headlamps, so will be VTS and Exclusive I believe... Quote
ham's c4vts Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Hi all, Which models have headlamp wash?I can't see any nozzles on mine!! Terry if youve got a VTS or Exclusive then they come out of the bumper and look like the robots head (johnny five) in short circuit. Quote
Rich_Eason Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Just out of curiosity check mine today and they do exactly the same as above. Get a small amount of water on the lights but a good jet washing of the drive.... Looks like it is going to have to go in.... Quote
C4VTS Posted November 28, 2006 Author Posted November 28, 2006 Hi Rich, Have booked mine in for Friday :) Also getting some other things sorted I hope. :( One reason I got the VTS was for the headlamp washers, as dead handy when all that salt is on the road in coming winter weather. Nothing worse than having to stop during a journey to clean your lights as you can't see where you are going. Alright for you city boys with your fancy streetlights. :D Quote
Welshguy Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Alright for you city boys with your fancy streetlights. lol you do know they aren't exactly a new invention! :D Quote
Rich_Eason Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Also getting some other things sorted I hope. :D What other things yuou got to get sorted? I'm compiling a small list of far from major jobs/issues that need to be sorted by the dealer and will get it booked in for a one hit job. So far the list stands at1. Bulkhead sound insulation panel fixings broken and rattles2. Passenger Door speaker area rattles like it has loose nuts and bolts in it.3. Headlamp Washer jet washing the road road sweeper stylee4. Passenger window is sometimes reluctant to close on the first flick of the button. I'm hoping that will be it for now.... Quote
C4VTS Posted November 29, 2006 Author Posted November 29, 2006 My other jobs list that need fixing:- 1) Auto headllights/Guide me home option missing from menu.2) Rattle from nearside front.3) No Picture of car when Tyre pressures low to show which tyre.4) Suspect water leak onto front passenger mat.5) Anti-pinch on front windows causing windows to not shut at speed.6) Boot does not always spring fully open.7) Steering vibration between 65 and 80MPH (Had wheels balanced) Those are ones I can think of so far. I still have no visual warning of reverse sensors, and been told not possible by 2 dealers, maybe they will tell me I can't have the visual tyre pressure warning either? So won't be too happy if it should be there? Quote
lee_marshuk Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Steering vibration between 65 and 80MPH (Had wheels balanced) Aaah - you as well. I had this, couldn't understand it. Went to ATS several times, asking if my balance was wrong, tracking blah blah, they said it was all fine, and that the cause was that I do mainly motorway driving, and because of the style of tyre it wore down into a slight groove which gives the vibration back through the steering wheel. I smelt bullsh1t at this point, as usual. So I went to Citroen - same answer, almost word for word. Then I asked a friend of mine, who works at the tyre factory round the corner, and he said that definitely that was the case, and that really there was nothing you could do about it. Its frustrating really, since like me you do a lot of motorway driving and you want to sit back, relax and enjoy the drive, when all you end up doing is having to grip the wheel to hold it straight!! Quote
C4VTS Posted November 29, 2006 Author Posted November 29, 2006 That's interesting Lee, and you are probably right, as it does not always vibrate at the same speed every time, as sometimes it is fine with no real vibration. I could be doing 75mph with vibration, then slow down to 50mph, then back to 75mph with no vibration for a short while, then it will come back again. Weird. I will not be buying Michelins when these wear out. I think there is about 4mm left on the fronts at 18,000 miles. Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Finally more people experiencing this!! All started when I had my fronts replaced for Pirellis at KwikShit. Wheel balancing was terrible, ended up taking it to 4 different Kwikshits a total of 9 times. Then to 4 different citroen dealers. The first dealer replaced the tyres with Michelins as they said Pirelli are notorious for being hard to balance?!?!? This made no difference so replaced all of the wheels...still no difference. The latest dealer, Motorsales in Harlow said they had identified the problem but couldn't fix it and sent me on my way. Regrettably there is no chain of command as they don't have a service manager! So I am now stuck with a car which I drive 70 miles on the motorway everyday with wheels which are so unbalanced the steering wheel judders. More crap Citroen customer service. They seem to only employ the socially and mechanically inept (obviously there must be some exceptions, like certain forum members) Surely there is a fix for this apparently simple problem? Quote
Safety Engineer Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Z3M noticed you mentioned Harlow, if you are in the Essex area, I can recommend Supertyres in Maldon http://www.super-tyres.co.uk/supertyres.html Have used them for quite a few years and have always been good. Quote
Rich_Eason Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 5) Anti-pinch on front windows causing windows to not shut at speed. One of the things on my list of to dos.... anything above 45mph and the window get buffeted about abit and doesnt seat back in the frame properly..only on passenger side though. Quote
c14vts Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Thanx you lot now i got to go and check my car for all these faults Speakers are done now after 2 visits to the dealer and then doing it myself.............. either up to loud or not on at all ,that cures that 1 <_< Quote
Welshguy Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 anything above 45mph and the window get buffeted about abit and doesnt seat back in the frame properly..only on passenger side though. Do you get this all the time? I get this problem occasionally on the driver side window.. <_< Quote
wozza Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 For those of you a little more daring you try taking door pod off and putting back on. Theres a small rubber running along the top of the door if it puts too much pressure on the window it does not close properly...only know from putting it back on incorrectly when i changed speakers and having issues with the window. Put it back on again and all was fine. Quote
