On my way to school this morning (late as usual!! B) ).

Pulled out of a junction onto a main road and the clutch felt VERY weird, almost as if it kept all the power until the last minute :D

It now feels EXTREMELY light when pushed down and also on the way up, also it vibrates like mad! :(

I remember the test for a slipping clutch (dont know the symtoms, but thought i may as well test it) was to come to a halt, and set off in 4th (or 3rd) which is what i did. The car did not stall!! Is that a sign that the clutch is slipping? :P

Just remembered that it also said to do it with the handbrake "on", which i didnt. The momentum of the car would help the car not to stall, so is this a major factor?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Sorry to hear your bad news matey

Another test is to find a steep hill stick the car in 5th and let it go up trying to maintain a set speed. If the revs rise considerably but no increase in speed sounds like the clutch is slipping.

Another test is to stick the handbrake on and try and pull away in fifth. if the back of the car goes down clutch ok, if car revs - slipping.

Are the symptoms always consistant/aparent?

When the clutch went in the Focus I had it just "went" and was unable to select any gears other than 1st and 2nd. Reverse was a no no. If the clutch has gone it would be completly undrivable.

I would avoid doing any testing and get it to your nearest dealer or get them to pick it up.

Good luck and keep us posted

It drives alright (moves and stuff :P ). Just is different, and, as you said, it just happened in a split second.

One minute is was fine, the next it is weird!

Just drove to the gym and back and it is the same, weird.

Almost as if it is holding back the revs for a little while after the clutch is fully released! :(

One thing is that it is smooth as hell to change gear now   The car keeps flat as a pancake whilst shifting, even from high up the rev range  Keep it low down and you would hardly know i was changing gear. Odd. But not a nice odd :(

Feels like there is no connection between my foot, the pedal and what the engine is doing! :(

p.s. I put the handbrake on just now (in 4th), released the clutch and reved slightly.......it stalled. Now thats a good thing right?

Yes...although I'd take it to an expert just to put your mind at rest...

I had my clutch and flywheel replaced recently on my 1.6HDI Coupe VTR+, luckily Citroen replaced it under warranty.

The pedal felt weird and was pulsating under your foot, also the clutch felt as though it was sticking and was difficult to slip accurately without the car jerking.

Cheers

He also says somethings up <_<  :( ....

 did he take a deep breath, suck his teeth, sigh and scratch his chin when he said that?!...he should be a plumber/builder!

Did he also sigh and say "its not gonig to be cheap"?

Too busy at the momen to take it in

In all seriousness I would avoid driving it unless it is going to the garage as you could be doing more damage than the original fault... :(
