wozza Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 meant power wise but thats just if the engine is exactly as it was designed which is never gonna happen. There all different. Like mine is supposed to max out at 5800 power wise but theres still more power after that than there ever is below it. Quote
Stuey Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 oh power band...it is not far off then, it does get tired at about 5K. I have noticed that it revs more freely when the engine is hot. The car is generally smoother when warmed up, it is very jerky when it is cold like this morning when it lurched everytime I changed gear... Quote

Exactly the same behaviour as my 1.4 engine - I actually stalled mine this morning...I find you need to rev it to get it to move from a standing start, but I'm never keen on reving it as it sound like a screaming banshee, and gives off the impression your a crap driver! :P Quote
wozza Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Is the 1.4 noisy straight off then? As the 1.6 is near enough silent under 3000rpm. After that it sounds a little wheezy then it makes a nice noise. Revs get better as it heats up etc. As yours but sounds quite different for what is basically the same engine just smaller capacity. Quote
Stuey Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 no its not noisy, you know it is working but cant be classed as noisy. it calms down a lot when it is warmed through...you can get it to pull away with no throttle just on the clutch but it takes a lot of control. Quote
ham's c4vts Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Heres mine dirty, its actually worse in the flesh. no shine to it at all :P compared to the sig below this pic http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l22/Ham66/Dirty-2.jpg http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l22/Ham66/garage.jpg Quote
Stuey Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 thats about the same as mine, my wheels and tyres are muddy from the country roads I take in a morning, thats still quite a departure from the norm for you Ham!! Post Christmas car washing party for me and you is in order I reckon :P Quote
Stuey Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 I can have a try before you buy on your Natty's blue paste :P Quote
ham's c4vts Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 yes no problem stu, it just feels a better to use than megs nxt :P , but it may be to preference. You can try both if you want.its like putting shoe polish on, but also easy to buff off(dont use a brush though :D ) Quote
Welshguy Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Natty's Blue is amazing - I have a tub in the house..goes on the C4 lovely...a tip though is not to leave it on for too long (I.E split the car into sections and do 1 at a time..) otherwise your arm will kill buffing it off! Hmm smells like bubblegum! Quote
ham's c4vts Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 yes do a couple of panels at a time, i get fed up with kids licking car after ive applied it :P :D Quote
Stuey Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 I use NXT now, I really like it. I think my brother has bought me an Auto Glym gift pack for Xmas...I didnt have the heart to tell him that I prefer Meg's (and the finish is considerably better with Megs IMO) but I will have a nice bag to keep all my Megs stuff in :P Quote
wozza Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Depends on what some of the AG stuff is really good. And also depends on colour of the car. Quote
ham's c4vts Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 the only downside to Auto Glym, is that it leaves white powder everywhere after youve polished, where as Megs and poorboys dont. Quote
Stuey Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 the only downside to Auto Glym, is that it leaves white powder everywhere after youve polished, where as Megs and poorboys dont. I have noticed that too, its not so bad on polish but when you come to wax over it its a pain in the rear Quote

wozza Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 See now all it needs is the WRC bodykit and it would look cool with all the dirt on it. But anyways to bring up my limp home thing was a temp sensor i needed. Also had a software update done while it was in and a few other things got rid of my squeaky seat. Exhaust was sorted out. And that wierd rattle they said they fixed but its still there 3 frigging times its been in for that rattle and everytime its been something else and its still there! Gonna have to get under the car and see if i can find it myself. Quote
