CoolCarbon Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 I don't like the colour of the displays on my C4...Yellow-ish just doesn't cut it for me... ;) Are they LEDs or filament bulbs...? Just wondering as the Rev counter display turns Red at the limit as we know.... Maybe there's a way to swap them all to a colour that is more attractive....anyone know...? Quote
Welshguy Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 There is a way but you've got to be confident with a soldering iron... Quote

I'd imagine the they are bi-colour LEDs fitted tot he rev counter. Better colour consistency less power and last longer than filliments. ;) Only problem is if you change the LED to blue you will loose the red line RED as most multi colour LED have colour ranges...red and blue not being one of them, that said there could be just a red LED. That however would take up more space. Other considerations with LEDs is that the standard RED AMBERS and GREENS all emit a standard light intensity, the blues and whites higher light intensity which could cause a problem with glare. I doubt the dimming function on the steering wheel would elliminiate this. :D Other issues as well...Nocturnal Myopia, blue glaring dashboard not being one of the best colours to prevent this, unless you want to sit in the dark for 15mins waiting for your eyes to adjust to the darkness....think black digits blue background....not the easiest to see. Looks cool but for me more hassle and trouble than its worth... Quote

Mike5483 Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 I imagine its possible, but you have 3 Displays, plus all the controls, push buttons etc. Its a lot of work. Quote
