ham's c4vts Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Sebring have exhausts out now for 5 door owners :D non yet for Coupe owners :P http://www.sebring.at/php/index.php?cmd=cm...ductModel=33898 Quote
DJVile Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 mmmmm i like the quad tailpipes. Id love to get that done if i had a hatchback! Quote
Welshguy Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Why make an exhaust for a hatchback over a coupe first ? Makes no comercial sense! Nice though..I'm planning on getting an exhaust done at ProSpeed in Cardiff...the guy who runs it is a legend. He's seriously talented :P Quote
ham's c4vts Posted December 5, 2006 Author Posted December 5, 2006 I know Devil do a back box for the coupe and you can have it loud or subtle, yes it is funny not doing a coupe exhaust :P Quote
Rich_Eason Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Is there much difference between the routing, mounting, shape, dimension, lenght of the exaust between the two models? I'm quite happy with the OE one on mine. Quote
welshys90 Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 although very nice it is strange they didnt do the coupe first Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Thinking of getting the exhaust done, subtly mind! ;) Just a bit louder and rawer... B) hmmm....... Quote
ham's c4vts Posted December 5, 2006 Author Posted December 5, 2006 Heres Devil exhausts, bit expensive. http://www.devil.fr/gb/autos/index.cfm theres one here with a vts http://www.devil.fr/gb/news/news_auto.cfm Quote
wozza Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 I'm trying to decide weather or not to get the exhaust trim form Citroen only around £40 but cant quite decide if i want to get it. And always worried about after market systems sounding way too loud cant be doing with loud exhausts. Not on a 1.6 anyway. Its not so bad when its got some power to back up all the noise but just find it funny seeing people with 1.1's with these insanely loud exhausts on them. Quote

C4VTS Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 The best exhausts are the quiet ones B) Really annoys me to hear a 1 litre fiesta/corsa/saxo sounding like a spitfire from WWII, and u always know it's a boy racer without even looking. Rant over, as showing my age now I guess ;) Quote
welshys90 Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 na not really showin your age, i dont like the noisy wee idiotic cars, i find it really funny they think they can beat anything off the line, ive only ever been beaten once off the lights so far and that was a motorbike, but then again i dont tend 2 race off the lights unless its the bog standard chav car that pulls up and they start revvin it like its a ferrari Quote
lee_marshuk Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 but then again i dont tend 2 race off the lights unless its the bog standard chav car that pulls up and they start revvin it like its a ferrari Man after my own heart! Quote
wozza Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Yeah I fell for that once guy was revving it on the line me thinking oh hes just got a shitty exhaust....oh how wrong i was it was an old astra and i got off the line quicker got onto the slip road thinking ha thats another dick taken care of to see the thing go screaming past me. Turns out it was running a tuned z20let engine kicking out over 300bhp. He was just having a laugh. Was an alright guy though. Have to give the guy some respect for building a sleeper. And some loud exhausts are fine on a tuned track day car a decat etc is cool. On a decently tuned car its fine. But a loud exhaust big enough to loose a cat in on a 1.0 litre nova is just funny. If i had a powerful fast car id be going for a decent exhaust to get more power form it and say sod the noise it makes. Quote
Rich_Eason Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/7716/bigpipesy3.jpg I've ordered mine...although I'm not sure how the fitment will effect the reversing sensors B) ;) WozzaIs the trim the same as the VTS tail pipe trim..I thought you already had it or am I just making that up? As said above I like mine just the way it is. Quote
ham's c4vts Posted December 6, 2006 Author Posted December 6, 2006 Actually Sebring and devil arent that loud, ive had a Sebring on an axgt and it did sound nice, the Devil i had was on my last Xsara and that was nice too never over the top. Quote

ham's c4vts Posted December 7, 2006 Author Posted December 7, 2006 you had to cut bottom of your bumper trim then? that exhaust is a bit big, normally see them on a nova/corsa/punto/saxo. Quote
Rich_Eason Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 I cant help marvell at how much extra POWER this is going to give me  Quote
Stuey Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 if it is making a racket then it must be quick... Quote
Rich_Eason Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 if it is making a racket then it must be quick... I think that is the common mis conception that if it makes loads of noise, is bigger then that must mean extra BHP. A silencer is made to do just that silence! Quote
wozza Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Personally think if your going for a sporty sounding exhaust it should be there to compliment the sound of the engine. If your going for tuning dump the cats etc and just go for a straight though does not matter how loud it is then as its tuned for speed. To tune a 1.0 litre to wake up people in the entire village with there fart cannon exhausts annoys me. Or people that do stupid exhausts on cars. There also the same people who are usually uninsured wankers putting the price up for the rest of us. Quote

I also enjoy seing the stupid sized exhausts mounted to a 1 liter Nova and where the exaust rubs the plastic trim has melted the surounding area. Such a classy look. Quote
