jimbobfruitbat Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Has anyone had a Bluetooth installed by a Citroen dealer as opposed to having it installed at the factory before delivery? I understand that it will provide the same function - i.e. it will provide hands-free for a mobile - but isn't quite the same as the Bluetooth option which is factory-fitted. What does it include exactly, what does it look like? The dealer tells me that it will do the same as the factory-fitted Bluetooth, but I want some confirmation. Quote
wozza Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 One of the guys here did it but as I remember it was not cheap. Means new headunit etc from citroen so best part of around £300 - £400 as i remember it. Can get a better after market solution for that. Quote
philstott1983 Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 On this note, what head-unit would be recommended with built-in bluetooth, and that would take an i-pod as well? Got a thing for alpine but can't find a solution there without geting into daft figures..... Quote
wozza Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Im an Alpine fan as well. But Pioneer also offer some great headunits with bluetooth and able to take an ipod for under £200. There about the best 2 makes you can buy of the known brands not sure if becker have a bluetooth option with ipod etc as well. Quote
jimbobfruitbat Posted December 10, 2006 Author Posted December 10, 2006 The reason I'm looking at the post-factory fit bluetooth is because I have asked for this feature to be bundled in the deal for a new car. I'm not quite sure what it looks like, as I've been told that it is both a bluetooth kit and also a "parrot squauker" and has a screen. None of this really clarifes to me what it actually is, but I guess so long as it gives me handsfree for my mobile then it acheives the goal. Quote
