Marty Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Having discovered (the hard way) that the Sony X-Plod Stereo wont work in the Multiplexed Blingo without the central locking turning itself off... I have (for now) refitted the tape player pending either the fitment of a multichanger or an in dash Citroen CD player - anyway, I have also discovered the OE door speakers are crap and get all farty at more than 17 on the volume control - as I am deaf (well hard of hearing - yes I do have a hearing aid - believe me its like listening to Bon Jovi on short wave) I often have the stereo cranked up. Anyone got any suggestions for drop in replacements? (something decent that wont fart and distort when the stereo gets turned up? Quote
wozza Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Nothing citroen can do to see if the sony headunit will work nothing they can turn off or whatever? And what kind of budget do you have on the speakers? Quote
Marty Posted December 8, 2006 Author Posted December 8, 2006 Not tackled Citroen yet - though I was going to about the cost / fitting of a CD changer.Money - up to about £50 for 2 speakers really (for something that wont fart!) Quote
wozza Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Do you want some component speaker (seperate tweeter and woofer with a crossover) Means more wiring up and more messing during install but better sound. Or a simple coaxial speaker which is an all in 1 type woofer and tweeter together. Do you also have an idea of the size needed in the blingo? 6.5" or 5"? Quote
slasher Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 I've been looking to buy and fit these Pioneer TS-1785 component speakers in my Blingo: http://www.pioneer.co.uk/images/products/carspeakers/pioneer/ts_1785_detailpage.jpg You can get them from lowcostcaraudio for £40.99 There is a product page on Pioneer's website which says they fit the Blingo. The only thing that put's me off is when you read the full brochure it says you may have to modify the mounting for the door speaker, but it doesn't tell you what needs to be done. I don't fancy drilling holes in the door! Quote
