Andrew101010 Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 Has anyone else had experience of a extremely long delays in getting front wishbones, particularly the off-side one. My car has been off the road for 3 months - yes 3 months, 90+ days, awaiting this part which Citroen cannot supply nor can they give a date when this will end. My car is an 04/54 2.0 HDi Exclusive Auto with 34,000 miles. Apparently new cars have a different design. Anyone any ideas on sourcing this part? Many thanks. Quote
Rich_Eason Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 Daft question... Have you rang another Local-ish dealer and asked them to see if they can get hold of the same part and see what the response is? If they say "3months lead time" then you know you arnt being fed a load of old oats. If they say "hang on a mo I got one on the rack".......say no more. If they say they can try and get one for you ask how long it would take to get in.....use this as a benchmark for your argument with original dealer. Just a thought. Quote
Andrew101010 Posted December 12, 2006 Author Posted December 12, 2006 The dealer has phoned around including Peugeot and Fiat dealers but there are none. Citroen themselves kept quoting delivery dates that were then missed and they now cannot give me any date at all as to when they might expect a new supply. Accordingly I am led to understand a number of these cars are now residing with dealers awaiting repair. Dealers are being encouraged by Citroen to seek out pattern parts but there appear to be none of those as well! I have tried other dealers and independent parts suppliers with no success as well. Otherwise my updates on delivery (or lack of) are coming direct from Citroen customer service (or lack of). Quote

Andrew101010 Posted December 13, 2006 Author Posted December 13, 2006 Thanks for the link and much appreciated. However I need the right (off-side) one and for some obscure reason the left one is generally available (as the garage has that one as they need to replace both due to premature wear) but not the right (off-side) one. I am told the later modified version for 2006 models onward can be fitted if you replace the subframe as well but need to explore this with the dealer further. Otherwise supplies of the off-side wishbone for 2003-2006 models is unlikely before Christmas and as the French will then be in holiday mode I assume that means sometime in the new year so I will have been 4 months without the car! At least Citroen customer service are now being quite helpful. Quote
