915tdl Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Hi my zanti drivers doors drooping looks like abit of the rustie peril on door side pillar looks ok? wondering if anyones had to weld them up and how they went about it.suppose will have to strip door out.i'l give it abit of a gissting with the old leccy tooth brush/ my king size dremel with flexi hose.not sure whether to mig or stick weld it(1.5mm rod)or get someone to gas weld it?later i'l find a door for it if it's not goner last?White so should be some around!cheer's guy's. toldem_oldham Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Is it rust or has the weld come away from the door pillar if weld has cracked its a easy fix with a mig welder not stick plant as it will disintigrate the pillar,can be done with the door still attached,open door to its limit and put a tack on the top and bottom of the angle then carefully close the door to make sure its lined up and not catching anything if its ok weld it where cracked and put a small stitch along the top of the angle ,ive done this on both my doors its a common fault especally on the estate models :rolleyes: .paul.
