Stuey Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 yep I had nothing to do with this  Quote
lee_marshuk Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 lol nah get it right....Wozza wants me to have it tuned, Stuey's just jealous of my car  Quote
wozza Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Only reason i prefer remapping...cheaper and done properly its not a generic map that will work on any car its something they do with you driving the car. So each map is custom designed for that specific engine resulting in better power etc. Quote
Stuey Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Stuey's just jealous of my car  only a little bit. The only problem with your motor Lee is those silly extra doors  Quote

Also it doesnt affect warranty because it is not adding an additional part, unlike the chip. Quote
Rich_Eason Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 Also it doesnt affect warranty.... I'd be careful as remapping is changing how the car came out of the factory...and may incur warranty issues It may be difficult to spot but I'm sure a trained insurance assessor with brown leather patches and tweed suit could find it, especially if you have a sticker somewhere with xxxtuning on it or something... DJVile Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 As far as the insurance goes, yes, if the insurance assessor finds out then you could be in trouble. However, it is incredibly difficult to find out as the only way is to compare the map to one on an unaltered ECU. Tecnically you are not changing any of the part of the car. You are just altering its function ( Fuel ratios, timing etc) http://www.angeltuning.co.uk/ai_faq.asp#9 Quote
lee_marshuk Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 only a little bit. The only problem with your motor Lee is those silly extra doors I'll sellotape 'em up and flog you the car  Quote

Stuey Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 thats not a spoiler!! but I like the idea of a scoop made out of cardboard, a papercup and double sided stckytape. I have found a new project for Blue Peter!! car mods! Quote
