wozza Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Was on a roundabout earlier. My lane was blocked so i indicated to move in car in front moved forward to let me in guy behind after i was part way in then decided my car needed hitting i was already in the lane and sat still not moving with the front of my car in the lane. Anyways went into wing damaged wing / bumper. Cant really see it that well in pictures but will provide them anyways as i know what you guys are like. Scratched the wheel slightly, wing is a bit bent in places and so is bumper as well as lots of scratches. Managed to pop a fair bit out as at first the bumper was pushed right in not sure if its gonna need a new one or not not seen the amount of damage fully yet only surface stuff so not sure if any mounts etc have been snapped. Wing was pushed in enough that the metal frame has indiented parts of the wing and can be seen on the outside. But thats further up and not visible on the pictures. And to Ciaran see even after a nice load of scratches and 6 weeks without a wash its still shiny :-P http://mybigspoon.com/wozza/wing1.JPGhttp://mybigspoon.com/wozza/wing.JPG Quote
Stuey Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 who's next?? cmon any takers?? we need a third crash to make this Xmas complete  doesnt look to bad mate, just needs a respray by the looks of it... Quote
wozza Posted December 28, 2006 Author Posted December 28, 2006 Pictures make it look better than it is  Wing has a nice puncture further up. Depending on whats been damaged inside guy has so far estimated £300 minimum but it may require a new wing gonna try and save this one though by sanding all the bend sections down and smoothing it out again. Mat Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 I take it you're not trying to claim on insurance then? Quote
Rich_Eason Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Ah not another...poo on a stick Wozza. Did you bother to have words with him? Having just done a run to B'ham and back today people are going mental on the roads. In the space of 6mins we had 4lane drifters all requiring harsh braking as there was no indication or signal of them even moving out of the lane. Then on the way home the piece de resistance Approaching the M50 turn off a Toyota Enema...Emina...Douche? What ever they are called sat in the middle lane doing 58 braking hard and with main beams on. No one in front of him to even cause him to brake. I think a message to us all be careful as there are some complete numpties out on the roads as the only thing that is going through their mind at this time of year is the "Next Sale" Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Sorry to see your troubles wozza!! Quote
wozza Posted December 28, 2006 Author Posted December 28, 2006 Yeah got him to pull in round the next bend and had words with him. Gave me £70 in cash there and gave me all his details basically saying dont go through his work go through him instead. Guy was driving a big truck type they use for collecting the bins in. But got all his details said to me just give me a call when you have some quotes and he would pay for the damages in case and any costs i incur from not having my car. Still got his registration number of vehicle etc. To make sure. But he just did not look really said i was in his blind spot which is just not paying enough attention should know to check it. But hopefully it will get sorted gonna book it in while im away for a week in Benidorm probably better than leaving the car on the drive for a week anyway and will take them a few days as they need to sort the wheel out as well. philstott1983 Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 I wish the guy was like that with me when i had a crash. He was making his own lane as i was pulling out, the was speeding down where he souldnt have been and wrote off the front end of my car (This was some time ago, in a 206). The guy argued that i shouldn't be pulling out blind and instantly got whip-lash!!! Needless to say, the guy was a ***oops*** and when left to the insurance, deemed he was in the wrong becase the legitimate traffic was letting me out and he was driving in his own lane that wasnt marked. Serve's him right and the fact he was a w@nker with me, i milked it all i could. Whip-lash, loss of earnings through trauma, the lot :D Quote
Pondus66 Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 Got rear ended by som a hole the other day. Going inn to get it fixed janary 2.Did not do to much damage to my car, but his Golf has extensive damage in the front. Quote
Welshguy Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Make sure you take it to the best bodyshop of your choice when getting quotes - if he doesn't like it...take him through insurance! :P Sorry to hear of your troubles Wozza! Quote
wozza Posted January 7, 2007 Author Posted January 7, 2007 I only use 1 body shop there not the most expensive but there custom is based on reputation. Back street garage place. And it speaks for its self when you got there and theres Ferrari's, Merc Sl65 AMG's etc sat there. Do loads of restoration jobs as well. But its gonna have to wait now. Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Sorry to hear about that Wozza. Someone bumped into my sisters friends Saxo about 2 years ago and bumped the front wing fairplay to the old guy he paid the Citroen Dealer in cash to do the repairs to my sisters friends Saxo. Quote
