hertsnminds Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 There are some cars that get you from A to B and have no personality, never go wrong. Then there are other cars with bags of personality demand lots of attention and are a bit quirky. The same is true of car owners and when you mix the 2 things together you get owners and cars that match and those that don't. This is the 2nd soft top I have owned and just when you think all of the problems are not worth it you get a sunny day and you are reminded just why it is all worth it. The thing is with the Pluriel it is not just the sunny days that remind of the cars good points. Yes it has it's problems, but there is no other car that can do ALL of the things Pluriel can or looks like a Pluriel. It is a unique package of pleasure and pain just like most car owners. Maverick Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 As I had posted before I still think that the Pluriel is a great little car, let down by dealers and manufacturer who do not give a stuff. The car is great, 4 seats, open topped, almost mippy and great fun to drive, and the sooner the specialist dealers open up the better for all of us, it is the only way, excepting this forum, where we will find any expert knowledge. rickharris Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 Yes very much - No leaks. Lots of fun and attention few problems and a good relationship with the dealer. Bought at a good price, £9000 with 1000 miles on it. depreciation is dissapointing but at least I didn't pay £50,000 for it and loose half of that!! Quote
eeijc Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 I love my Pluriel  I've not had any problems with it, and have stopped looking for leaks because I can't find any! I bought my 1.4 new for about 9500 which I regard as a very good price for a four-seat convertible with room for three adults, a baby seat in the back, and space in the boot for a pram and the week's shopping. Quote
bylromarha Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 HOW??????? I struggle to fit my pram in and have succeeded in scratching the paint at the back of the rear seats several times with the pram. No space for shopping, or anything else for that matter, when pram is in the boot. And my baby seat is getting to be really hard work to put in the back as a: he's heavy, b: the passenger seat always slides back and you have to have 1 hand on the seat at all times to put baby in safely. So hubby now has my beautiful pluriel  (couldn't bear to p/ex it!), I got a berlingo :o and all my problems melted away... Quote
CE08LDB Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 I want a question answered if some1 can. I know alot about Citroens but I don't know this why can't you have 3 people in the back of the Pluriel like my 5 Door C3? Quote
hertsnminds Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004
why can't you have 3 people in the back of the Pluriel like my 5 Door C3?
The 5 door C3 is 1440mm wide between the rear wheels, the Pluriel is 1431mm. The internal dimension for the rear seats is 1402mm for the C3 and 1330mm for the Pluriel. So you have an extra 72mm for bum space in back of the the C3. The C3 allows 467mm per rear seat passenger and the Pluriel 665mm so I guess it depends how cosy you want to be with your fellow passengers. Ian Orange 03 Senso Quote
CE08LDB Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 Thank you for answering my question. Now I know Quote
gazuza Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Just love my little guy... Small leaker (driver's seat window), a bit noisy but here in Portugal I pull the roof down almost all year... The only thing that´s bothering me now is its value going down so fast... Quote

willie229 Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 I live in North West Ulster. We get alot of rain and never have a hosepipe ban. I bought my Pluriel 1.4HDI in October 2005. It has been returned to the dealer four times to date. It leaks at the roof beam unions and soakes both front seats and under the drivers door below the speaker. My dealer bought me a new digital camera following the first flood and he knows me very well now. However when you do get the sun it is just fantastic driving with the roof off along the winding coastal roads of Donegal and Antrim. No other car could provide that level of freedom and still not kill the pocket. Well car has returned after the product recall and it is a glowing success. Have left and drove the car in serious rain and not a leak to be seen. Wonderful. Has anyone found any way to split the roof bars so they could be stored on board, Quote
hertsnminds Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 . It leaks at the roof beam unions and soakes both front seats and under the drivers door below the speaker. The arch seals are very sensitive to how the arches are taken off and put back on. I always took my time when putting the arches back on the car making sure all the rubber was located correctly and nothing was caught. In fact the arch seal update was a free fix. If you go to http://www.c3pluriel.org.uk/ and look in the Questions section and the question Why is my Pluriel wet inside you can see the difference in the old and new seals. As for the puddles in footwells this is caused by water not draining correctly from the bottom of the door and the water is actually coming in over the top of the kick plate not falling from the roof area. This is a common problem on many soft top cars. Just look up websites for the MGF, BMW Z3, Fiat Barchetta. Part of this problem is the frameless windows (where you would usually find a gutter on a hard top). In a soft top more draining water from the roof falls through the door and exits via drain holes at the bottom of the doors. If these holes become clogged or the rubber seal at the bottom of the door is squeezed in the wrong way (and it is different each time the door is shut) you can get puddles in your footwells. plurielzze Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Love the Pluriel. I have had a trouble free two years travelling 400 miles a week. No leaks due to extra packing by the dealer. The car now does an average of 44.7mpg which is good for a petrol especially with much urban driving. :D There have been a few modifications to the engine over time and a few more to be added. I want more power and greater economy. On reflection it is the best car I have owned to date :D Quote
