gar200 Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 Interesting to find out for ammunition against dealers to say, Look out of x amount of leaking cars y% could not be repaired. From reading on here, I dont think anyone has had a resolve through warranty work. Replacement is the final straw for most and if like me...still not the answer. Gar. Quote
Maverick Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 I fit into the third category, No leaks (yet). I am sh*t scared of ever letting the dealers loose on the car, since they are not people I would trust to stop a bottle of water from leaking, let alone my car! Quote
jennybash Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 My leaks were only resolved by replacing the car. However, I am waiting for my new car to leak.... During the recent weather it has been under cover during the big rain downpours but when I have been out in the rain I have noticed the inside of the seals are damp and when you prod them you can see water drops forming. I'm therefore just waiting for the day that the rain occurs when the car is parked without cover.... Eh um.... It's a waiting game like everything with this car. p.s my car is back in the garage for the ticking noise from the dash.... It's having another holiday!! Quote
hertsnminds Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 The latest seals have meant less water gets in but they are not 100% watertight. Also the seal design stores water so whilst the car may not leak you can open a window 2 or 3 days after some rain (and the car not being used) and still get a refreshing face wash! I recommend an emergency stop before opening any windows as this sloshes most of the stored water down the windscreen. You can look on the email forum of pretty much any soft top car and find stories of leaks (and other problems), BMW Z3, MGF, Porsche Boxster etc etc Boxster list of problems http://www.986faq.com/10-0/problems.asp Z3 leaks http://forum.bmwboard.com/forum/showthread...s=&threadid=540 MGF issues http://www.mgcars.org.uk/MGF/mgfindex.htm Ian Orange 03 Senso Quote
dobbin Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 Mine is still leaking despite repeated attempts at repair. I’m currently trying to get a replacement but sadly I will not be getting another Pluriel if I can help it. I’m going to have to downgrade to a standard C3. I still love the Pluriel, but I’m fed up with the hassle of constantly chasing the dealer with problems, taking it in for repair work, driving round sitting on a towel etc etc. My dealer claims that they have successfully fixed several leaky Pluriels and that mine is the only one that still leaks. I have no way of knowing if this is really the case though. They’ve been saying that since last Christmas so I have my doubts! Quote
hertsnminds Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 Ask them for the names and phone numbers of the owners of the ones they have fixed, or if they will not give out the phone numbers ask them to make the calls from the dealer and you speak to the owners. That way you can hear it from the owners rather than a dealer. Ian Orange 03 Senso Quote
eeijc Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 I'm pleased to report that despite some torrential downpours, my April 2004 model does not leak. The tubular seals over the side windows used to look a bit moist in heavy rain, but a smear of silicone grease in the overlap has completely cured that. The arches have been on and off a fair bit too. However I wouldn't want my Citroen Garage fiddling with the roof. It works fine and I'd like it to stay that way! Quote
hertsnminds Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 Supposed to have had the glass height adjusted today to stop the front quarter light pulling the seals off. When the car was returned the arches were not located correctly and the passenger door glass did not sit flush against the seals every time the door was shut. The only way to make sure the glass was in the seal was to open the window shut the door then wind up the window. It seems they have moved the whole windscreen seal and thrown lots of things out of alignment rather than change the glass height. They have fixed the quarterlight problem and generated at least 3 new ones. Taking the car back tomorrow to explain what is wrong (even though it is pretty obvious). Ian Orange 03 Senso Quote
hertsnminds Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 Car went in today to get the passenger door glass catching against the seal fixed and a creaking rear window when it is closed (sounds like the glass is about to crack). The dealer informs me they need some parts, when I asked what parts, they told me window winding motors. So when the parts arrive the car will be going back again to have them fitted. It seems once you start with one thing going wrong you just chain on to the next. Tune in soon for the next installment of...Can you fix my Pluriel? Ian Orange 03 Senso Quote
