c14vts Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 oh yeah look what i did last week whilst blastin the windscreen with the demister should of waited instead of driving off with only a pea hole veiw to see out off £134 lesson learn't i think Quote
wozza Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Should be less than £50 to refurb that one though. You dont need to buy a new one. Mines getting done for £25 after my accident when someone went into me. Quote
ham's c4vts Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 At least you didnt run anyone over, or crash into another car/bike/bus,lorry!the amount of people i see in the mornings all misted up and still driving down the road at 30 to 40 mph   Quote
c14vts Posted January 11, 2007 Author Posted January 11, 2007 getting it refurbed so i lost that piece crap they call a spare in the boot Quote
wozza Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Well its not a spare just an emergency wheel hence the 50mph limit when you have one installed. Quote
Welshguy Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Check Ebay if you REALLY want a new one...there are occassional single VTS rims Quote
ham's c4vts Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Well its not a spare just an emergency wheel hence the 50mph limit when you have one installed. But it's a proper spare tyre, i know it says 50mph, but that was for those space saver things.its the same size as what Stu's got on his 1.4 :D Quote
Rich_Eason Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 I'm not sure on this one... I think the reason it says 50mph on it, isnt due to the fact that its not a space saver but wonder if it is because its smaller than the other three bigger tyres. Makes no real odds but I'm sure someone somewhere will try it on in the case of an accident whilst driving with a smaller wheel at 90mph. Either that or it has a very low speed rating?! :D Be interesting to see if a car fitted with the same size wheels as the spare has 50mph stuck on it? :D Me and the spare have been getting quite friendly recently hopefully it will be the end of our relationship :D Quote
Welshguy Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 its the same size as what Stu's got on his 1.4 Thats the same kinda thing my brother says when he looks under the bonnet of my C4...he say's my 1.4 engine looks like the starter motor for his 1.8T 20v ....GRRR Quote
Stuey Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 C4's dont have space saver wheels...mines got a normal steel wheel. I think you'll find my car has 17's now. If we are talking about the engine, then yes there is loads of space in there, if the boot gets full of shopping you could stick it in the engine bay. Even the VTS doesnt fill the space...3.0 V6 from the Pug should fit in there nicely. Quote
wozza Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Last time i looked at mine it did not look like a full size wheel...then again i have never had it out. Quote
Welshguy Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 The spare is a full size replacement. Trust me. I know! :P Quote
Rich_Eason Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Full size if you have the smaller wheels...I dont have a 17" spare in my boot :P Quote
ham's c4vts Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Full size if you have the smaller wheels...I dont have a 17" spare in my boot :P its still a full size spare, the overall diameter of wheel and tyre (which is 16"), is still the same as your 17" alloy wheel and tyre Quote
