Z3M Roadster Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Seem to recall it was about £500 with elephant. Quote
wozza Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Not too bad really. Was getting quotes for stang / corvette coming in at between 1500 and 2k Which i suppose for a 500bhp car at 23 living in Manchester is somewhat reasonable. Quote
C4VTS Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 40 ON SATURDAY WANNA COME MY PARTY I GOT BALLONS AND CAKE AND PASS THE PARCEL£406 Full comp 2 years no claims  :D ;) That can't be right? What insurance company is that? Do you live on a desert island, and only drive to the local tesco every week? I have about 8 years no claims, am older than you, and yet pay a lot more !! And yes I have shopped around. Quote

Safety Engineer Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 33 yrs but no idea on insurance as is a company car, my quotes were always high for my private cars as I had high mileage and was visiting construction sites so had a double whammy... :) Did my advanced driving 4 years ago and got a small reduction, if I had passed my Police Class 1 I've been told it could go up, not that I would drive at those sort of speeds as a 'civvie' driver. Rich, abbatoir worker shouldn't affect car insurance but will take a real knock for life, medical and critical illness insurance. Quote

gosso Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 71......................about 50 years NCB ( ) £186 FC Direct Line (12 * 15:50) 1.4 SX. FWIW about 20000 miles per annum. Quote
BigJohnD Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 VTR+ 110 diesel, 56-y-o, 15K miles/year, Chester postcode, no idea how many years NCB, but do I qualify for the maximum 70% or whatever. I pay just over £400 per year, but then I do have a 22 year old student son as a named driver. For me alone, it would be less than half that. The Co-op aka CIS do good deals for parents and "children". My brother, similar age, petrol VTR+ pays over £400/year for him and his missus via broker, but he has a Manchester postcode. I told him not to sell out move. Quote
Mike5483 Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Im 23, 4yrs NCB, live in an OKish area. My job title says I'm a technician and last year I paid £750 My insurance has been with Zurich and this includes European breakdown recovery (because I drive to France quite a lot and last year drove to Spain), Windscreen replaced FOC, locks replaced FOC if they break, Legal Costs covered, courtesy car if I need one, all stuff like that. Its part of they're Car Solutions packages. Quote
C4 COUPE Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 36, Full no claims, Cornish postcode, 1.6vtr £234 Comprehensive, oh and that includes the missus too ! Quote

Mat Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 24 with 6years no claims. Fully comp with Swift (£600 excess!!) for £299. That was bumped up because adding gf as named driver - she has points and recent claims. something like that, let just say I have had to sign something :lol:How come signing the OSA adds to your premiums? Guest james Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 I hope all you 20somethings out there are putting your mum as a named driver on your insurances? Always knocks a good 25% off my premiums. Quote
welshys90 Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 im 17 my dads the main driver and im the named driver hence why mines is so cheap but i tend to drive the car more because hes away all week in a lorry, if i wasnt named on the car it would only cost him £90 a year Quote
Mat Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 I hope all you 20somethings out there are putting your mum as a named driver on your insurances? Always knocks a good 25% off my premiums.Only if you live with her. Quote
Guest james Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Only if you live with her. Still knocks them down for me and I havent lived with my mum for 8 years. Quote
Rich_Eason Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Still knocks them down for me and I havent lived with my mum for 8 years. I thought this practice was illegal isnt it? Quote
Z3M Roadster Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 If she were the policy holder and you were a named driver then it is probably insurance fraud. The insurance company would have pretty strong grounds not to pay out if that were the case Quote
Guest james Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 No, she's just down as a named driver on my insurance. I'm not that dodgy! Quote
xavtia Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 I had my mum and my best mate as named drivers on my policy for the last 2 years but this year it started costing more with them on so they are now no longer on my policy. Quote
Woof Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Was 80 last week. HDI 90 SX hatchback, 6 years no claim, 6k miles per year limit, £340 fully comp with Norwich union Quote
