idlerobbo Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 My girlfriend detests them as she thinks they look chavvy... Lets put it to your vote! p.s. its a black VTS I have. Yes before anyone points out - it might help if I looked less like a chav myself and actually learnt how to spell spoiler! Quote
CoolCarbon Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 She'd be right if it were a non standard part that looked like it had just come off the tail of a whale..... ;) As it is a genuine Citroen Part, it has been well designed to integrate and blend in with the lines of the Car...IMHO of course... :D I thought the VTS had them as standard.....? Quote
c14vts Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 it does look good with a spoiler or at least mine does,,,,,, i also thought they were standard on the vts  Quote
sammys hdi vts Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 The spoiler is only standard with the petrol vts, the diesel has it as an option. I have the spoiler and think that it completes the coupe. I have seen several without it and I dont like the car. I really would recomend it. Ps, Abbey Citroen in Redhill are great dealers, just had the car in for an service module (airbag) recall and they did loads of little bits like replacing the drivers seatbelt as it didnt recoil and clipping back in a rear fog light after I was rear ended a while ago and they also did the brake calipers for the rear wheels. Picked my car up and dropped it off, no hassle all free. Thanks! Quote
idlerobbo Posted January 19, 2007 Author Posted January 19, 2007 looking like im going to get one so far then. For a moment there I thought I had been ripped off with my VTS haha, but yeah I ave a diesel one. I thought it was only called VTS in diesel though?? and VTR+ for the petrol version? Maybe im being daft! Having never fit a spolier before do you think I could do it - and does it come already sprayed ready for my black car? it does look good with a spoiler or at least mine does,,,,,, i also thought they were standard on the vts  think i pm'd you about your exhaust - mine doesnt look like yours is that a petrol/diesel difference? CoolCarbon Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Having never fit a spolier before do you think I could do it - and does it come already sprayed ready for my black car? Yes and Yes.... if I can do it, anyone can, just follow the instructions that come with... Quote
iannez Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 yes. just finishes car of lovely. 5 x 10mm nuts behind trims and a couple of sticky pads each side. careful when removing trims as they are very brittle. Quote
C4VTS Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Insurance company will hike up your premium by adding a spoiler. If you don't tell them, they will not pay out in event of a crash. Online insurance quotes to add a spoiler would have added more than cost of the spoiler itself. Quote
Ciaran2903 Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Not CIS, because it is a Citroen part, they dont mind and wont put up the insurance when i put it on... Quote
xavtia Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 I'm with direct line an their take on it is no modifications that would make it more attractive to thiefs both externally and internally think that just about covers everything.spoiler would last about 10 mins in city centre Bristol Quote
wozza Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Same with me no insurance hike for spoiler or rub strips and any allowys no matter what size no hike either. If i add an induction kit or something similar it gets knocked up or if i add non standard citroen parts it gets hiked up but original equipment on the options list they can bugger off. You dont declare leather seats or sat nav. I had mine on in city centre manchester parked there everday and night for months only 1 weekend i came out to it partially hanging off. Lesson learnt dont park it outside of a busy club in the centre of the main clubbing area of manchester for 3 days without visiting it. Quote

Online insurance quotes to add a spoiler would have added more than cost of the spoiler itself. I agree partially to this, but to be fair its an OEM part so I can't see how any insurance company could complain about this. The assessor would also have to spot this in the event of an accident, and I very much doubt it would draw his/her attention... Quote
Stuey Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 I didnt think you had to mention Citroen parts to insurance compaines as a lot of it is standard on the higher models?? Oh and I think the outcome of this poll is pretty obvious... Quote
Rich_Eason Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 I think it is a grey area and is only probably answered by the insuarance company as I suspect the T&C's vary from company to company. The way I look at Insurance companies is that will always try and get out as paying as much as they can and look for anything that aids an excuse. I'd give them a bell and ask, afterall thats what part of your policy pays for. No harm, afterall you havnt fitted it yet. Quote

I know some of you do :-) would be much appreciated... oh and I read a thread a while back about a guy selling them on ebay cheaper than anywhere else. Cant seem to find it now... Quote

idlerobbo Posted January 23, 2007 Author Posted January 23, 2007 heres a couple. the petrol VTS has the exhaust pipe exit out of the back too thanks mate! I want an exhaust like yours - not fair! Also where did you get your VTS logo for the back? mine only has it on the side at the bottom skirt. Quote
ham's c4vts Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 just go to your citroen dealer parts department and get them to order you one, about £6 with vat, and it only took about 2 days to come  Quote

wozza Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Exhaust trim is an available extra you can get at the dealers too. I was thinking of getting it put on my 1.6 as it looks a bit nicer than the plain black. Quote
ham's c4vts Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Its not the sam though is it? your tailpipe points at the floor and hidden, i would of thought you would have to cut the trim under the bumper to fit it?? Quote
wozza Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Think its a dealer install parts are 50 alone...and I wish this keyboard had a bloody pound button! Think the black section has a bit to cut out ojn the lower models and the pipe is just a case of trimming and fitting on the backbox. Quote
ham's c4vts Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 im wondering if the Vts back box will fit, as when i brought a Devil for my Xsara 1.6, i would fit all models from 1.4 upto vts, except the estate as its longer.it was also the same for ZX and AX as well. Quote
